Has anyone attended one of Hillary’s book signings yet? I have one tomorrow. I originally planned on taking a half day and arriving around an hour before the event, but the store sent out a notice about all the parking/security etc and said we could line up beginning in the morning! Should I plan on taking a full day off and lining up hours before??
I haven’t been to one, but know someone who has. I would plan to be there for quite a while. I think she said she was in line around 5 hours? A camp chair, blanket, snacks, and entertainment will be your friend.
The bookstore here sent out the same type of email. They said we could begin lining up at 7am! (I also just saw an email that they changed the time by 1 hour.) But they said that you just have to be checked in by the start time in order to guarantee getting your booked signed. In the same email they urge public transportation but then also tell us "Any personal items that cannot be pocketed will not be permitted in the event area, except SMALL purses or bags, phones and/or cameras. Please leave all bags, purses, backpacks, coats, memorabilia, and other personal belongings at home or in your car." No coats? In Denver in December?

Ugh. I may just work from the office then go get in line at the last minute. I hate standing in lines and I really can't take half a day waiting in line without my computer.

I thought it is going to be at the Colfax location?

oh crap.. then guess I'll work from my car nearby.. ugh. I wish I could just have my laptop with me and work in line.
I went to one a few weeks ago. They started selling books at 7 when you bought your book you also got a wrist band for the signing, that started at 1. Some people got in line after they bought their book and these people had to wait outside till they let everyone in the store. I worked a half day, got to the signing around 12:30 or so, and they were still selling books when I got there. At this point we went through security and everyone waited in the store. You were limited to what you could actually bring into the store, so no laptops. When I got close to the actual signing they made us put everything in our pockets and we had to keep our hands out when we walked through security (again) and talked to her. I had to wait about 2 hours to actually get my books signed.

I took my 7-year old to one. It started at 1, and the bookstore said we couldn’t get in line until 11. But, when we showed us at 11, the line was already about 50 people deep. We waited about two hours.
It was quick, but she was super gracious to my daughter, and her staff sent me a picture that they took!!
I went to the Austin one. Start time was 12, I got in town/to the line around 10:30 and there were at least 100-200 people ahead of me. They checked us in while we were in line, once the event started we slowly moved forward in line, including inside the store. At one point went through metal detectors and then when we got to the actual room we had to have our hands out/empty. They handed us the signed book after we shook her hand/greeted her (she would sign like 30 in a row then shake hands until that batch ran out). Left my purse etc in the car, and we couldn't take pics . I also could barely talk without crying so I didn't say much to her but she was super nice and gracious! I wore my women's rights shirt from her campaign and she was like "Love the shirt!" I did see a couple ladies get a pic with her (taken by her people), I assume because they had these unique shirts with dozens of pictures of her on them. Had lunch next door right afterwards and by 3 I couldn't see any line outside anymore, not sure if the line inside was gone too.

This sounds similar to our set up. How long did it take from the time you got in line to the time you got your signed book?

I was in line about 10:30, got to the signing table/got my book right about 2. The line when I joined went around two side of the block already, I would guess probably a couple hundred people ahead of me?
I'm looking for one for the Seattle signing. I missed it. I can't believe it. I was looking every. Damn. Day. when I bought my tickets to see her. Nothing. Then it popped up and was gone before I knew it. And nobody has a spare.
Ok, first of all, it was AWESOME. Hillary was so gracious, she looked fantastic, and the event was well organized. We got there at 11:20, the event was scheduled for 1-3. We had our signed books at 2:15. When we got there, there were several hundred people in front of us. There was still a very long line when we left at 2:20. We couldn’t take pictures with her, but we could take them of her before we came up to the actual signing table. I shook her hand and thanked her for all her work for women and children. She promised to keep fighting. Great day!
They churned people through today pretty quickly. We got in line at 11am and were through out by 1pm. I have no idea how many people were ahead of us but I'd guess at least a few hundred. I got to tell her the story of when I first met/heard her speak. It was over 20 years ago and when I asked her if she remembered the event I could see her thinking and then she said "Yes" and described the venue. She thanked me and said she appreciated hearing the story.
We could wear coats and purses were okay. The only rule was that you couldn't have anything in your hands when you approached the table. No pictures were allowed unless you could sneak one before your group got called to the signing area. Like pp said, she'd sign a whole bunch and then they'd put people through. We got wrist bands and it got cut off when we got our book after we met her.
Hillary asked Stella her name and said "nice to meet you, Stella!" Then she thanked me for bringing her. ❤️❤️❤️ I was so star struck I just said "thank you" a couple of times - lol.
