...I will be moving into my new place in Virginia.
Holy shit.
This weekend, I cleaned out most of my closet & dresser. I boxed up the too-small clothes I hope to be able to wear again some day. I sorted clothes into the donate bag and the trash bag. I realized I desperately need some new bras. I ordered a few new dresses. I cuddled with my cats, and I spent a lot of time hugging my husband.
Virginia!? Like, NoVA? So the DC job thing happened? I wasn't sure from the CL talk if that was a future hypothetical or a for-real thing. Did I miss things when I was away?
Oh, and I may not have updated, but I already found a place. A friend checked it out for me this weekend. She swears the people who I'm going to live with are not axe murderers. So cross your fingers!
I was camping, so yes, I did miss the announcement!
Congrats on the new job! I wish you many happy happies, and though I am more than likely not going to be able to attend thanks to work and house and such, make sure you and cookie give me a heads up when you schedule a GTG.
Yay! Can't wait to be coworkers. My plan is to get all of MM working at ****. I think we have like 5 of us here now!
You work at ****? I used to work for a contractor on an **** program, Ticket to Work. Do you work up in B-more?
And congrats, AH! Where in Va will you be? I'm in Arlington.
I actually work in VA. But I swear there are so many **** people here. I guess we are one of the largest agencies. Hopefully Harpy doesn't mind that I just spilled the beans, if you want me to delete the employer I will.

Weeee!! Are the too-small clothes actually worth keeping, or are they the kinds of things you're never going to wear when you reward yourself with a new wardrobe?

There's a fair number of nice pieces, including several suits. Plus, with paying rent on 2 places, I won't be able to afford much in the way of new clothes for the next year.
My H gave away all of his too-small clothes when we moved. Now, 3 months later, he's lost a ton of weight and has nothing to wear and wishes he had kept those clothes lol.
Craigslist. Despite all the zany ones I posted, there are seemingly normal people who post there. I emailed and chatted with the owner/housemate and was pretty sure I wanted it. A friend of mine went over to meet the owner and look at the place and assured me it was a great deal. Yay Internet!

I'm in DC. Can't say i love it but it has it's definite perks.
As for CL, I had really good luck in Boston with roommates. DH and I are still friends with two if the three roommates from this one apt. The fourth crazy one became a state senator in NH. And we found our current apartment from CL as well and it's perfect.
