We gave a New Years party with like 15 people... will probably buy 4 bottles so 10$ range. Something sweet and drinkable but now sickening sweet and fake
At that price point, Friexenet would be my choice.
It's one of the few produced using the traditional methode champenoise. Domaine Ste Michelle Rose is very nice and a little sweet/fruity, but about $5 a bottle more. Gruet, which comes out of New Mexico, also produces a very nice range of methode champenoise sparkling wines.
MIL brought this one for Christmas- Cecilia Beretta Prosecco Superiore, I think its about $10 and was good.
I've also had this one from TJs - Mionetto Il Prosecco and it was good as well
I assume you are having other drinks too, at least that's how we'd do it. Not many people want to drink nothing but champagne all night I would think. I'd have a glass or two then have beer probably. So as long as you also have beer, wine, etc. I think four bottles should be enough.
Four bottles for 15 people does not sound like enough. That's only about a glass and a half each. Costco has a pretty good prosecco for around $8.
This was exactly my thought.
4 bottles for 15 people?
Maybe it’s in addition to other booze already there. If there red/white wine and some hard liquor the champagne could be for novelty/toasting the new year
If it’s the only alcoholic beverage then definitely not nearly enough. Multiply that, by like 10. lol.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Don’t get cheap champagne. No Barefoot or Cupcake! Get a cava or prosecco. I agree with the La Marca suggestion even though it’s more than $10 per bottle. But I think it’s worth it to spend a little more to get something drinkable.

Is this just for the toast or so you plan on drinking all night?
We hosted around 20 last year and had champagne just for the toast, about three bottles. After the toast most was left untouched and ultimately poured down the drain.

Another vote for Kirkland prosecco. We just bought 2 cases for NYE yesterday. In my experience, many people bring a bottle of bubbly to NYE parties as well. If we have leftovers, then we have mimosas on New Years Day.

I don't have recommendations, but in my circle 4 bottles would likely be more than enough. Most people don't like champagne and it's just used for toasting. Additionally, every time we've toasted everyone brings a bottle and we end up with like 6 extra bottles the next day.
