It's far from sexy, but the neighborhood is decent and is an upgrade from our current one. The price is awesome. DH and I drove by it this weekend. We won't buy for another 2 years, but this is a nice pick, if we do. I'm not too crazy about the fact that it's in a busy street, but the bedrooms are all the way at the back.
3/1, over 1Ksf, 4500lot, $386K REO craftsman. We would likely open the kitchen and add another bathroom. The zoning will be perfect for our LT plans. It's walking distance and a short cab ride to a few things we'd enjoy, and a nice mid-point to our respective jobs.
Although, it kind of looks like an art museum. There are so few homes here in NOVA with that style. Even when you do find them, I think I like them set in the desert better than a tree lined street full of colonials and cape cods. They just fit better in the desert. Maybe it is just how you can get such sweeping views where in VA that doesn't really happen.
Well, we're still in the renting world, and will be for some time yet. But, this is my current favourite of the listings we're looking at for our next move:
(I suck at PIP, and, really, it's an apartment in a highrise, a single photo doesn't really give much of an impression... This one has one of the largest kitchens I've seen in the apartment listings.)
I am actually looking at floor plans / houses... I think we finally decided on a country house on a few acres. I found this floor plan online that I love and would be functional for our needs.
If we decide to have a house like this we will have to build. You can not find a true country house here even if you are out in the country.
BB- I love that house and the MP area! I look at houses all the time, too. It drives H insane.
That house is pretty nice. I'd take almost anything in MP though. The one next to my husband's boss is for sale. Probably wouldn't be a good idea though.
I do LOVE the ones Miso and Spenjamins posted. But I don't think we could find anything like that around MP or in the entire city.
It's in Ireland overlooking the sea. Victorian home with original/restored features. Property also has a 2BR apartment, a separate lodge/guest house and extensive gardens. 1.3 million Euro. I could retire here if I had to.
