I'm looking to buy a knee length-ish puffer jacket while they are all on sale. I live in the south, so it's not USUALLY super cold here (read: super cold is anything 20's and below for me!) but this year it's been chilly, so thinking I want to grab one. Also, I'm on the taller side, (5'8) so plus for sleeves that are actually long enough.
Rec your favorite puffer jacket/ tell me what to look for!

Susie, vtdiamond, BeagleMama, pooh8402 - do your Lands End jacket have zippers? I found 2 I really like but man they got some harsh reviews re: the zippers.

Yes, a 2-way zipper. It's fine, but it does get caught in the fabric sometimes. Not enough for me to complain about online or return.

I haven't had any issues with the zipper on my jacket.

I have two, and neither has a problem with the zipper. One has been mine all along, and one was my mom's. (I liked the color of hers better than mine.) Neither is new though. I think they're both about 5 years old.
If that jacket is Kenneth Cole, my mom has that one and likes it. We are in Philly and it keeps her warm enough; it would definitely be good for down south. She is 5'7" and it fits her great. It's not knee length though - I would guess mid-thigh?

It is Kenneth Cole! I’m good with mid-thigh I think!

I have one from Eddie Bauer and it’s totally amazing. I bought it in their tall size - also 5’10” - and the added length on the body and arms is perfect. I’m in DC do not super harsh winters, but it definitely still keeps me toasty when we are in the 20s and 30s.
I'm a huge fan of LL Bean. I've had 2 down jackets from there and they are both awesome. Super warm and comfy. I like the 850 down because it is so lightweight and not bulky. The only downside is that I"m not a huge fan of their colors. I really want a cute, bright jacket so I was shopping this year but couldn't find anything I liked as much. I tried Lands End and the 2 jackets I bought were bulky and the zippers were definitely weird. Interesting to see that feedback in this thread! I returned them and am hoping LL Bean comes out with better colors next year.

Thanks for all the great input! I ended up ordering the LE chalet jacket. Abandoned cart discount got me in the end! Hopefully I don’t have too much zipper trouble. Then again it was 60 here today, so it’s not like I’m living somewhere where I need it every day.
