1. How does one go about joining this book club I see mentioned? I don't believe I have time to read The Great Gatsby by this evening (darn baby taking up all my free time) but I would love to participate next month if it's open.
2. imoan, I am insanely jealous you met Jared Padalecki. Gilmore Girls is my life.
Oh, and hello TIP I've been lurking for awhile here on TN and decided to jump in.
Everyone is invited! We'll keep you posted on what book is selected for next month. Previously we've picked a handful during the meeting, and then did a poll to come up with a final decision. But this last time, we just picked one during the meeting. I'm not sure what we'll do going forward- but either way, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
We really should just pick one in the chat. I don't like the idea of letting our poll results get skewed by people who aren't participating.
But even if you haven't read it or if you're just familiar with it, read it before, heard about it, stop by. They let me watch and add useless comments when they discussed watership down lolol

I still almost DIE laughing when I think about how I was on the regular chat thinking I was on book club chat, and broc went over to book club chat to let everyone know that "imoan is on regular chat, chattering away about bunnies and shit". Must.only.have.one.chat.open.at.a.time.
And yeah, I agree HS. We had a shitload of people voting, but then 4 people actually showing up.
Yeah, I think I prefer choosing the book during the chat, since we were typically getting around 40-50 votes for the poll, and then only three people would read the book.
Yeah. Our TIP BC record for people who actually read the book is three. I'm really hoping we'll break the record tonight!
Yeah, if people weren't able to participate but want to vote for the next month, they can always join chat quickly toward the end. Granted... it's not like I've been unhappy with any of the books we've picked... but out of sheer bitchery, I don't want some asshole who's not even going to read the book to be involved in the decision.
