I would, but honestly, I love old lady shoes so I'm probably bad to listen to. But I buy tons of shoes from Seychelles and other old ladyish style shoes.
I think they're really cute, but honestly they look like they'd be about useless in the rain. One accidental foot in a puddle and your whole foot would be wet inside the shoe. They would keep you from ruining your regular shoes, though, so there's that.

They're decent, and would be cute in red. My only thing is how how much of the top of the foot it covers, but that's my hang up not yours. I like funky but not too crazy rain boots. I got some Sorel's from Sierra Trading post (brown and orange). I just think of rain boots as fun shoes.

I think they're cute but I can never understand the point of those shoes, I can't imagine my feet actually staying dry in them. I say full boots or nothing.
They seem to be pointless, and therefore no I wouldn't wear them if you're trying to have practical wet weather gear.
They are not pointless because they are cute. I mean, what the fuck people. They are lined with navy blue and white polk-a-dots.
Jesus. I shouldn't have to point this stuff out.
Amen, sister.
Plus, I'm thinking they're perfect for those days where it's alternating between spitting and a steady rain, where there's water on the ground but not washed out roads, when it's not enough for big ass rainboots but your ballet flats are getting wet.
In other words, pretty damned perfect for getting from the building to your car and back again.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to get them.
I have a pair of wellies (from Target) that I bought last fall and ended up almost never wearing because they were so bulky and I don't know...I just found them kind of a pain to wear. Especially since the weather here is so jacked up in spring and fall with having random warm snaps after it's been cold. I mean, it's DC, it's not as though we get major monsoons here.

I forgot you're in DC! You know you can just head over to the Bean store in Tysons to try them on if you're on the fence. Although you don't really sound all that fence-y.

$70 rubbers?? Do you know how many pointless mind numbing mystery flucks I could have with $70 worth of rubbers
Remember the Judy Blume book "Forever"? (Of course you do.) It wasn't until I was an adult that I figured out the mystery of why there was a street where couples went to park, then discarded their used galoshes. Probably should have waited 'til I was older to read that...

i'd just get rain boots... b/c those won't really help in the rain, and for that much $$, the ugly factor and no real help in rain factor really = not worth it.
I really want them in red...I think they'd be perfect for daycare drop off on a rainy morning.
But I can't get over the fear that ordering shoes from LLBean instantly makes me an old lady.
Anyone?
Hell no.
I have slippers from LL bean. They are amazing. If YOU really like these shoes--then get them They aren't old lady---it is just my opinion they are ugly.

agreed. I like the patent red, but these would not withstand our rain.
I have a similar pair (minus the cute tie) in black and have worn them alot - they have saved many pairs of shoes! Great for rain or wet days. I also have a pair of high rain boots for downpours and slushy days when there is more volume of wetness with which to contend. Then there are the winter boots of various kinds for different conditions and occasions - but that is another story. Red would be great! (was not an option when I bought mine a few years back - but would be my choice today also)
I think they'd be perfect for our weather around here. I can't see myself ever going full on rain boots, but would be a nice alternative to the cowboy boots I'm wearing now just because I didn't want to ruin in any of my dress shoes and my pants were going to get wet anyway.
I wear my shoes for dropoff and to walk the dog so those wouldn't work for me...My feet would be wet the minute I stepped foot in the grass to pick up the poo. I have these from 6 years ago that I wear all the time. Not cute but oh so functional, and slip on! I love them
