We forgot it in the hotel fridge. We didn't plan on saving the top, but I wanted to continue to eat the remaining slices on our honeymoon. I paid a lot of money for that damn thing!
Our cake lady said she'd make us a fresh mini cake on our anniversary for free, so we never saved any of our cake (though it was delicious). By the time it rolled around, I couldn't remember her name or find her number, so we never did get that free cake. Oh well!
We ate it on our anniversary (and even drug it on vacation with us). In retrospect, it seems uncharacteristically sentimental for us, but it was surprisingly tasty.
We did cupcakes, and just had a small cake so we could do the cake cutting thing at the wedding. So we froze a big wedge of that small cake. It was still delicious a year later.

We had a DW wedding and ate all of our leftovers for breakfast the next morning
We went back to the same location 3 years later and I called the catering company to see how much the smallest cake would be- they gave us a free cake and bottle of champagne The cake was just as good as we remembered it to be the first time!
Ours was ice cream, and it ended up at my parents' house because they lived near the reception venue. My mom made us eat it when we went out to their house sometime after our second anniversary. It tasted about how I'd expect two year old ice cream to taste.
I wanted to save our top layer, but when we were leaving the reception the manager told us that someone had dropped the leftover cake. He said we could come back in a year and get a small cake for free.
We had stuffed cupcakes at our rehearsal dinner and we had one leftover, so I wrapped that up and put it in the freezer. Sometime before our first anniversary, MH told me that he was cleaning out the fridge and had accidentally thrown it away.
I discovered a few weeks after our anniversary that he, in fact, hadn't thrown it away, so since we were in the process of buying a house I suggested that we eat the cupcake once we moved in. But, again, I think he was cleaning out the freezer and actually threw it away.
We never bothered to get the free cake from the reception hall since it was a 40-minute drive.
We ate our cake in the days following the wedding. We're glad we didn't save any since most people have said it was freezer burnt by the next year. We're serious about our desserts and that wouldn't fly.
Cake company did not advocate freezing any cake since it would go bad after a few months.
Ours was fine; it was neither spoiled nor freezer burnt. It was wrapped within an inch of its life, though; it took forever to bust it out of its packaging. But no, it wasn't as good as when it was freshly baked. We still ate the whole thing though. lol.
We saved it and brought it home, but I was so busy with my visiting family that I forgot to wrap it to freeze for like 3-4 days. By then, I figured it was too late to freeze it and have it taste good. Plus it was HUGE and would have taken up way too much space in our freezer anyway. So the day my family flew out we all dug in. It was fun.
Also, I was bummed, somehow our cake didn't taste nearly as good as the flavor did at our tasting. It was still decent, but not worth saving a year anyway. I keep saying I'll order a small cake for one of our anniversaries as something special, but not sure I'll ever get around to it!

Funny story: when BIL and SIL got married, all of their parents went back to the moyher of the bride's house to unwind, and they ate the cake topper. The whole thing. Their excuse was that they were drunk, and SIL was cool about it, but I would have been PISSED.
Our wedding planner put the cake in the mini fridge in our hotel suite. When we got back to the hotel, we ate it. We were so hungry and the only taste we got was the bite we feed each other.
We order a small 6" version of our wedding cake each year from the bakery. We also use our knife/server set and toasting glasses on each anniversary.
