She looks really pretty in that green dress. Deep jewel tones are good colors for her. I like Victoria's dress too (I'd nix the scarf though).

And I loooove Kate's black Burberry coat.

There's going to be a black tie dinner. Disappointed that it's not a white tie dinner (tiaras). WTF is it with the Brits and not wanting to wear all their nice stuff?

Prince Daniel - he owned a gym and met Crown Princess Victoria because he was her trainer.

Related to this, I'm kind of bummed that we never got to see a full length photo of this white dress.




It looks like someone snapped iphone photos from these events so I figured one of the white dress would eventually trickle out but it never did.






Maybe they got tighter about security?

I like the green dress in itself but I swear she has two or three other dresses (in burgundy or red) that are almost the exact same. At least add a necklace or something to make it more interesting!

That quibble aside, I agree she looks good in jewel tones and I am glad to see her starting to reach for them more in general.

I am glad she chose a faux-fur beanie (although I am not a fan of pom-pom hats on anyone over middle school age TBH). So many of those and those dumb key chains are done with raccoon dog fur.

I love the green dress and she's looking nice lately.

IDK why they almost never release pics from the annual diplomatic reception (they released an unprecedented family portrait from the 2016 reception, though). That's the top pic with the white gown.

Middle pic with the blue gown is the 2015 diplomatic reception, which was filmed for The Queen at 90 documentary that aired in 2016. I think that photo of Kate from the back is a screencap from the video (1hr16min-ish mark: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9lSPGVoaTQ) 

Bottom pics are the Spanish state visit in July. Pic in the car is a press photo, standing and sitting pics are screencaps from video footage of the banquet. I checked one of the jewelry blogs I follow to see the photo credit and it's credited to CasaReal (Spain's royal house). Not sure if the British also filmed it.

Agreed, except I'm not sure if I like Victoria's dress. I did at first, but the sleeves are meh. The pattern in small doses is nice, though.

Okay I love Kate's green coat. That is a win, even with the buttons. (SHE LOVES BUTTONS!!!) at last the buttons are the same color as the coat so they aren't as obvious.

This is gorgeous. I have a dress that is green and black with buttons and looks kind of British school girl, so this is clearly up my alley.

I love them too! It's kinda funny- she marries a middle class businessman/fitness trainer and the media doesn't bat an eye. A university grad with flight attendant/entrepreneur parents marries into the BRF? WHOA. And this doesn't even touch on the Meghan/Harry crap. 

Didn't someone else marry an adult star or lingerie model and it was barely brought up? One of the northern European houses, IIRC.

Prince Carl Philip’s wife Sophia? (Victoria’s younger brother)
Glamour Model and Reality TV star but it was definitely a thing.
Maybe not so much in the English speaking press but there was definitely talk.
He even obliquely referenced it in his wedding speech.
I don’t follow the Swedes as much but my royal watching twitter crosses over at times and this was definitely talked about.

Victoria's younger brother Carl Philip is married to a former model who posed topless.

I think it's less of a big deal in the other royal families because many of them started marrying "commoners" generations ago. Although the Sofia thing was talked about, Carl Philip, like Harry is far enough down the line that it matters less.

I'm not really feeling this. I think it's the bell sleeves and ruffled hemline combined with the pattern, ruffled detail on the bodice, and the high neck. It's too much going on in one dress. I like Victoria's a lot better even though it's not super glam.

Ugh. Agreed. Kate's sleeves are too much, and that dust ruffle at the bottom just looks sad.

Victoria's sleeves are weird, the shoes are awful, and combined with the black pantyhose and the in-between hem length ... ooof. I wish she'd do something different with her hair, she's always got it pulled back really tight. 

William looks like his usual goobery self, and I can't really see but are his pant legs too short? He and Kate also have their "IDGAF" faces on. Victoria's been ill lately and skipped a few engagements before this, so at least she's trying.

Daniel's the only good-looking one in the bunch.

I need to go cleanse my palate by looking at the Black Panther premiere pics again.

This dress is awful. AWFUL. StrawberryBlondie I was going to say it reminds me of my grandmothers curtains lol.

Objectively I don’t like Victoria’s Whole look - the black tights, etc. but compared to Kate she looks like a fashion plate.

I like the architectural look of the top of Victoria's dress, but it need to be floor length. I agree that she should do something else with her hair. I also thought she was taller, but I guess Kate is just really tall. Plus, we can't see Kate's shoes.

Lol same! Mine was on sale on extra sale from Jcrew factory. But still! Matchies with Kate! And I must have that black coat!
