H and I have been making up death scenarios for Jack since they are making us wait. Just get to it! This is like when I used to watch my childhood cat injure chipmunks in the yard, let them hop along and then pounce again, slowly killing them over an hour.
My H just compared the scene with Rebecca on the phone to the chaos behind her to Sarah Palin being interviewed with the turkey being slaughtered. There’s your comic relief.
When they showed the social worker at the beginning, I thought it looked so much like Tess and then I guessed later in the episode that it was a flash forward since they continued focusing on young Tess. They do a good job casting. I wonder if it was also her a few episodes ago with the baby to be placed, since they have yet to come back to that.
ETA: Did it seem like the camera lingered on the painting in Tess’ room? Any significance to that?
She painted it with Kevin. It may have been the episode when William died.
ETA- the girls had asked him what happens when someone dies and it was his explanation that we (the colors) are all interwoven and when someone dies they are still a part of our paining.
Anyone else think it is weird Randall is wearing a “hot dad” apron with flames in it to celebrate the day his family house burnt down and his dad died?
My aunt died in a fire last Christmas. She came in from a party and put a present on her stove and must have accidentally turned a burner on. All of these commercials and teasers have been so terrible to watch. I can't imagine how my cousin feels.
I just watched it as I couldn't stay up last night and get up on time for work this morning. I thought this was one of their better episodes and I loved the surprise of Tess being the social worker. It just warmed my heart!
I stayed up and watched last night. Such a good episode - tears nearly the whole time. I love Tess being a social worker and am interested to see where the Deja story goes.
I was a little frustrated with the death- he burns his hands getting Kate to his room but yet- hardly anything when he goes back in, grabs a pillow case and fills it with pictures, tapes and jewelry, runs downstairs and gets he dog? And doesn’t go to the ER in the ambulance?
I usually dislike the Kate/Toby interactions but I loved Toby here. I also liked Kevin- I’m glad he’s finding peace.

Yes! I mean, all that stuff could have been on their dresser but still! I guess we are supposed to believe that the fire wasn’t some how near the steps to downstairs?

georgeglass, I'm very sorry for your loss. I was thinking about that, too (people who have survived fires or lost someone in a fire), as well as anyone who has lost their dad, especially at a young age.
Why couldn't he have just sent Kate and Randall out of their own windows? Why did he have to shepherd them back to his room?
You're looking for logic? This show is all about emotional manipulation. I have up ages ago. I figured I'd read the conclusion when it finally came. I wonder if viewership will now drop drastically.

All of this. Adult Tess is so pretty. I don’t understand how he collected all that stuff. Toby usually drives me wild but he was less bothersome last night. Kevin is the character I hate the most and even he was a little likable last night.
The other thing that irked me: She drove to Miguel’s all by herself like five minutes after getting that news? Why didn’t she have Miguel take the kids to the hospital?
I don't watch this show (I heard about the first episode's premise and decided, NEWP). But my sister was talking about it last night when we were at our mom's house for the game, and there were all those teaser commercials, so I came in here to see how it turned out.
Is every episode a sob-fest? I can't watch stuff like that.

I don’t watch, either, but all the hype made me care -lol.

Pretty much. I mostly hate-watch, and I still cry for about 50% of the shows.
