My mom, sister and I each have Kindles. They are all registered to my sister's Amazon account so we can share the books we buy.
A few months ago I re-upped my Prime account. Under my email. I "share" with my sister (she is one of my 3 with free shipping) but she doesn't get the streaming or Prime ebooks. D'oh!!
Can I switch my Kindle over to my Prime acct? I'll probably lose the books mom and sister have, but would be able to borrow so it would be worth it right? Or do they not let you do that? Can I switch over all three?

On my Kindle I can register and de register with my friends emails and passwords to get their book collections on my Kindle. When I re register under my name all of my library comes back onto it.
I don't know the answer to your question, but please explain - how does this work? My mom and sister both have Kindles too and it would be amazing if they could share books with me this way.... can I change them to be registered to my account? How do I do that? What if they order a book - does it get charged to me? I need more info! ;D
FWIW the Kindle lending library through Prime kind of sucks. There arenn't many books that I want to read so I wouldn't change things for that purpose. I don't think it is worth it.

I think its kind of messed up to share a prime account like that. The rules clearly state that you can have free household memberships - but only the primary member gets the free prime lending library and streaming.
Suck it up and pay the $79/year if you want that stuff, too. Don't abuse the system - they are already making prime shittier because of stuff like this. It dilutes the product for everyone else.

I do pay the $79 a year. My kindle is attached to my sister's acct so I was wondering if I could switch my kindle to my amazon so I could get the benefits I pay for... I wasn't sure if you could change the account once it was registered.

Ok I might not be comprehending the question properly. If you are the prime acct holder than yes you can switch the kindle. But you shouldn't give them household memberships attached to your prime unless they live in your household.
And they shouldn't be using your acct on their kindles or roku or whatever to Take advantage of streaming or lending library.
