The past week has been a nightmare. His surgery recovery has been terrifying. I thought he was dying.
He is doing better, bit still not good. His small intestine is super sluggish. Everything is working, just not efficiently. He has a tube in his stomach puming out what he is unable to process.
Please pray that his small intestine will get in gear.

I'm sorry recovery is not as quick as you would like it to be. Are the doctors saying this is typical? Or are they worried? Hang in there, try to take care of yourself. Saying a prayer for you, your H, and his health care team.
Ugh - I’m sorry to hear that. Sometimes bodies need a bit more time to heal after the trauma that is surgery. I hope things continue to move in the right direction and that he’s feeling better today.
In the meantime, I hope you’re surrounded by love and support IRL.

No word from pathology yet.
I good friend just had colon cancer removed at the beginning of the month. It took 13 days for his colon/intestines to wake up. He is now out of the hospital and doing great. Prayers for your husband

Thank you SO much for this. It seems like it is taking too long and it is so scary.

I'm keeping a good thought for you H! I think it's pretty common for it to take a while for the GI tract to get to together after abdominal surgery in general. ((hugs)) I hope he heals quickly.
Paying that he turns the corner with his recovery. When I had my appendix out it took about 5 days for things to wake back up. I was told any manipulation of the intestines can shut them down for a while.
