A #2 accident. Let’s say it is solid so it could be scooped out and into the toilet (with a glove). What does your daycare do? Do they try to clean it out and rinse the undies? Just clean and no rinse? Nothing and wrap it all up and put it in a bag in your kids backpack for you to deal with hours later?
Our daycare has been going with the last option and I want to know if this is normal. I am just going to tell them to start throwing out the undies because this option is disgusting. Maybe I am expecting too much.
They are leaving the poop in there wrapped up?! I would vomit if I had to open that hours later.
At ours, poop would be dumped in the toilet and underwear would be put in a baggie for me to clean at home. At which point I typically toss it (this has only happened once, I am not throwing away tons of dollars in underwear). Blech.
Mine did the last option a lot. Sometimes they would clean it. I agree, I wish I ultimately just told them to toss them because it was so nasty and they ended up getting tossed anyways.
Ew that’s gross. DD just potty trained a month ago and was having poop accidents in her underwear for about 2 weeks. I don’t think they washed them, but they definitely dumped the poop into the toilet before bagging the undies for us. I just throw them right into a bucket with oxiclean and then washed them and they were fine. I actually felt bad about it and asked them what we should do since she was peeing in the potty fine, but having poop accidents every day. They were fine with us staying in underwear (ie not going back to diapers or pull ups). So it seemed like they had no issue with it, which I really appreciated. She’s been doing better, but still has an occasional accident. She’s moving up to the preschool room in 2 weeks, so we will see what they do then.
If they don’t dump the poop, I’d definitely buy cheap underwear and just tell them to throw it away. That’s so gross.
Out old daycare dumped the poop and put the dirty undies in a bad. Our current preschool put poop and undies in a bag together. I had to throw out a few pairs when I didn’t realize there was poop in there and didn’t wash right away.

Our old daycare dumped it. They started dumping poop from cloth diapers (and I think disposable diapers too) at 18 months when they started changing kids in the bathroom. It was part of their potty training approach. New daycare doesn't, though thankfully DD warmed up to pooping in the toilet there pretty quick.

Dump solids if possible but we cloth diapered and got send home with poop at the end of the day, it wasn't overly gross. Well anymore gross than poop in general.

See, we cloth diapered at daycare too but somehow being sent home poopy underwear vs poopy CDs sounds worse and idk why
I agree and we didn’t CD. I am guessing if you CD you had some cleaning system at home with a bucket, a sprayer on the toilet, etc. I have no system. Just try not to throw up while dealing with it.
But I am also learning this may not be that unusual per at least half the responses. 🤢

Oh umm we just had a bag and a toilet. But seriously i am pretty much immune to kid poop now ha. If you don't want to deal I would just throw it away.
If it was totally solid, like would roll right off the underwear we would dump and then just bag up the messed underwear. No rinsing or washing. If it's stuck on, it's stuck on and it just went into a bag, no scraping or scooping.
Depends on consistency. C generally only has #2 accidents when it's really liquid or peanut-butter consistency. They plop what they can, then bag up the rest. Some parents have given them permission to just throw away the really messy ones. I don't mind doing a little bit of cleanup at home, but I've been tempted to just throw away the bad ones. I'm shocked they wouldn't try to plop something that's plop-able. But I also don't expect anyone to try to scrape or wipe or rinse my kids poopy undies.
I wouldn’t expect daycare to clean and rinse underwear. Solid poop - that would be nice if it got flushed down. I would tell them to toss it if you don’t want to deal with it.

They asked me my preference, lol. I said to just toss the undies, and they looked relieved, so I guess maybe that's not the norm? Thankfully, though, it never happened with L.

The first time, they put the whole thing into a grocery bag. Boy was I in for a surprise when I got home. The next day I told them to absolutely throw the undies away next time, and they did.

Some states actually have regulations stating that the daycare cannot clean the mess in order to minimize the spread of contamination. It's different when it's a diaper because they just wrap it up right where they are. With underwear, they have to try to get it off the kid, move it to the toilet, flip the undies inside out a bit...you get the idea. Going straight into a bag is cleaner for them. It's gross, but I guess I'm just used to it.
Our center dumps it out if they can, although sometimes we've gotten some still in the underwear. Either way they wrap it up in a plastic bag for us to deal with later.
Anything that is ploppable, they plop in the toilet. The rest goes into its own plastic bag, which is then put in a larger plastic bag (or your wet bag if you CD) with any other soiled clothes.

I’ve been told by moms of kids in L’s room that they throw the clothes in a bag with the solid poop in them! I was so surprised by this. She hasn’t had an accident there yet so I don’t have firsthand knowledge.
Our first preschool put it all in a bag and stuffed it in her backpack (but warned me when i picked her up so I wasn't surprised later). The preschool after we moved had dumped it out in the toilet, rinsed the undies, had them in a bag off to the side (not in her backpack) and offered to put them in the laundry for me when I picked her up.

Mine doesn’t do anything and just bags up. I’m not sure if it’s true or not but she told me she’s not allowed to clean it up. She could be pushing the rules too
