I'm surprised it is becoming a two-credit dinner. The food is very mediocre, IMO (at least the lunch is). For two credits, I want delicious food or lots of characters!
I wonder if this is just to cut down the wait and the madness to get a reservation. I agree that I don't think its worth two credits. We had a lovely dinner there, but it was very loud (which I know many Disney restaurants are) and if you get put in the library room it doesnt really feel that special (we were in the ballroom so it was nice.) And you still have to go wait in line to meet the beast. If the Beast was going to start going table to table, then I could kind of see the change.

When BOG first opened the dinner was amazing. we thought it was one of the best places to eat. A few years later, that was not the case. Last year we did breakfast there and it was not good but we tolerated it for the pre park opening advantage. We won't be eating there at all if that's what they're going to be serving and for those prices. Both of my kids will be over 10 after our spring break trip. no Way in hell I'm pay $55 for a prix fixe meal for them.

Oh that's a bummer. We really enjoyed the dinners we've had there. I was hoping maybe the prix fixe was just an additional way to have dinner there, not an all over change.
I'll be curious to see how Josh from easywdw reviews it.

I agree. We went for lunch and were really disappointed.
We had lunch there and it was meh......I just think it feels so much like a cafeteria in that larger dining room, I don't know that I'd want to spend the $$ even if I got better food and still got to see the Beast. We're doing dinner here in late March. Probably the last BOG experience for now!

I am glad we'll get in our last dinner in March. It is not worth 2 TS credits if the meal is only $55 (isn't Akershus around the same price and only one credit?)
Disboards has a lot of people complaining that dinner was only booked so people could enjoy a cupcake and coffee, they made it seem like half the restaurant does this. I never noticed anyone doing this. To be fair I never looked but if it was as many people as they seem to think it should have been obvious. And if Disney wanted to stop that practice- then going to the prix fix menu would solve it, the extra TS credit is just greedy.
We enjoy it. Eric and I get our own French onion soup and then split the steak and share a dessert. We have gotten the Charcuterie board before as an appetizer.
