You may remember from last year that I had to share a room at my annual work conference. I chose my roommate last year and although we know each other, we are not very close and it wasnt ideal.
Some people had their own rooms last year. I dont know if it was random, or what.
This year, I wrote a note on my registration form that said I preferred my own room due to my ulcerative colitis (not a lie). As an aside, We were not given the option to put our preferred roommate. So I got my package today and I have a random roommate. It says 2 bedroom suite so hopefully I have a door at least, and I really hope I get myown bathroom.
So cheap. If you cant afford the conference, dont have it. Or have 2, to save in airfare for half the people.
Two bedrooms is nice, but that doesn't really solve your problem, since I think it's pretty rare for a hotel room to have two bathrooms. They should've sucked it up and just given you your own room. Sorry your company is cheap.

I looked up the hotel online. The design of the room is that you have to walk through the other person's sleeping area to get to your sleeping area. (or the roommate walks through your space) Ugh
I had to share a room with a coworker once and we didn't even get out own rooms. There was two bathrooms though, thank God. It was super weird. Can you skip it? You're not back to work yet, right?

I tried to skip it. It is a managers conference and I am not going to be returning as a manager. I am also on maternity leave. But my boss said I should come as a learning experience. I am tempted to book my own room. But what a waste of my money.

Should I bother writing an email begging for my own room? I guess an email to the conference organizers? The conference is next weekend (in 12 days) or do you think it is too late.

That is truly awful and I've had to share with coworkers before, but happily it was always someone I knew/liked. I thought my company was cheap but I can't imagine having your issue and getting stuck with a stranger!

Yeah I had to share a room with two colleagues recently - and I really do love them, but it was just hard and awkward. It was hard in the morning with the showering and the bathroom, etc.
