They aren’t sending Charles who is slightly problematic (supports 2 Jewish charities/groups and no Muslim organizations) so their intentions are clearly to be as unbiased as possible now whether that is how it plays out who knows.
Given the timing this seems to be in response to Trump’s moving the US Embassy.
I expect a lot of good will/humanitarian/meet the people type of thing more than anything overtly political. 1) that tends to be where William does best and they chose him for a reason
2) Tying the future Monarch to any position on Israel-Palestine directly or indirectly would be a massive headache that I don’t think QEII or PM May would agree to.
Of course that doesn’t mean they can’t totally screw it up through idiocy (KP PR is horrible) but I suspect it will be a fairly straight forward visit.
We’ll know more once the official tour schedule is released though.
I wonder if one of the stops will be his great grandmother's grave?
Intriguing thought. Since he never met her, I don’t think it would be publicized. Hell, I don’t even know if Philip would care if he went. But from a humanitarian standpoint I wouldn’t be surprised if he visited Yad Vashem.
