I was asked to bring one to a party. Any ideas other than cake, cupcakes, or sugar cookies (is that even vanilla?)...... I'm sort of at a loss.

Panna cotta? These are easy, fun and cute. Good be pain to to transport depending on how many you need and where you're going...

Other than that, IDK. Asking for a "vanilla" dessert is a little odd.

Could you do a trifle with fruit, angel food cake and vanilla pudding?

Tres Leches Cake (not a traditional cake, may be an interesting addition)

That's a weird request? Maybe someone is allergic to or doesn't like chocolate, and they mean just "not chocolate"? I would be lazy and just get cupcakes or something.

I would do cheesecake squares or key lime squares. Usually when people say vanilla they mean not chocolate.

I was thinking cheesecake too. You can take a vanilla bean cheesecake recipe and make minis or squares so they're more party-friendly.
