I have no choice but to bring dd to my 6 week postpartum visit tomorrow. When I bring her to the pediatrician, I just have her in her car seat. I can carry it in, it’s getting heavy with her in it and then I have to leave it on the floor. Is it weird if I put her in the stroller (car seat clicks in) to bring her with me or is that weird and cumbersome? Signed, FTM and overthinking this.
Totally normal to bring baby to your pp visit. I think it is fine to bring the stroller if it fits in an exam room. If not, you can probably bring the stroller in to th office, then just bring the carrier into the room if needed.

I brought A to mine and I remember at my appointment after E was born the receptionist was sad I didn't bring him with! I had A out to feed her so I was holding her until I had to be examined, then I just set her in the car seat next to the chair and kept an eye on her as much as possible. It was super quick so she was just fine! There was almost always someone in the waiting room with a baby whenever I went to my pregnancy appointments.
I think it's normal to bring baby to the 6 week appointment. That's when you get the picture with the OB! I totally brought mine with me. He was in his car seat, except when he needed to nurse.

It is not weird at all to bring them. I see new moms all the time with babies in strollers when I was there for my pregnancy appointments. I plan on bringing my newborn to my post appointments too.

Boo. Ours doesn't let anyone take pictures with staff. I would love to have a picture with ours kids and doctor.
I brought the baby to my 6 week appt both times, in the car seat with the stroller. The dr loved seeing the baby!!
Ditto this. In fact, I am pretty sure I brought both boys to my 6 week appointment after DS2 was born. DS1 went with me to all OB appointments since I don’t have any help. My OB always loved seeing both of them.

Totally normal. I've brought all my kids in the same type of strollers to my post partum appts, including my twins in their double. I'll be taking DS3 tomorrow.
At hospital discharge, my doc told me to make sure I bring the baby with me to my follow up appointment, or at least pictures. He is going to the dermatologist with me tomorrow and ob in a couple weeks, in the carseat/stroller combo.

I did not bring DS1 to my first pp appointment. It was before the 6 week mark (so not the standard one), I was having a difficult recovery and in a lot of pain. It would have been ok with the OB, but it felt like too much to me. I did bring DS2 to the 6w appointment.
I did not bring DS to my 6 week appt and everyone was very disappointed! I think it’s kind of an unwritten rule, at least at my practice. DS will be 4 next month and my OB still hasn’t “met” him beyond when she delivered him. His pediatrician’s office is in the same medical building and I always think we should stop by when we’re there (for a well visit, not when he’s sick) but we’ve never done it.
Both of my kids came with me and the nurses and doctors love it. DS1 was colicky and refused to lay quietly in the stroller so a nurse happily rocked him while I had my check up. DS2 slept through the entire appointment.
I had an appt 2 days after discharge (8 days after he was born). He went but stayed in the car. The u/s tech went out to see him (H went to hs with her) but that was it. I has later appointments at I believe 2, 4, 6, 12 and now 18 or something like that. He has gone to all but one, maybe two or those. I have one more at the end of the month that I'll assume he will go to as well.
The nurse said they love when people bring babies in, but understand why they dont.
I brought DD to my 6 week appt (in her carseat, clicked in to the stroller) mainly because my OB had said she enjoyed seeing the babies. It was actually my first time taking her anywhere by car myself, and totally fine to have the stroller in the exam room. Then the day of my checkup, my OB was super busy and stressed out and expressed zero interest in seeing DD. Oh well!
I didn't bring my DS to my 6 week pp appt. Now that you all mention it, I seem to recall my OB and his nurse were disappointed. My H always arranges to WFH when I have any dr appts (and I try to schedule them for DS' nap time), so I've never taken him with me for any of my appts.
I brought my twins with me to my pp appointment! I left them in their car seats which were clipped into our frame stroller. I was able to wheel the stroller right into the exam room.
