Ok, i have too much time on my hands lately. Has it been announced if Kate is having a boy or girl? She has to be due any day now.
Megan... obsessed with. Maybe it’s the old “normal-ish” girl and prince thing. I just wonder what route she’s going to go for her dress, who’s jewelry, if any, from the royal family. Anyone have any sites to send me down a rabbit hole as I sit in the hospital being hydrated and poked/prodded/drugged?
I don’t think they pre-revealed sex on either George or Charlotte, right?
When is the harry/Megan wedding? June?
I don’t follow this stuff near as close as some of you but I’m still excited for our American princess fantasy coming to life!
Someone knows more than I do. I’m lucky I can remember my name right now. Why do i feel like they announced one of the babies’ sex, I just cannot remember who.
Another who is more invested than I should be. Kate and William haven't announced the sex of baby #3. Meghan and Harry's wedding will be on May 19th. I read recently that Meghan's father will get a coat of arms before the wedding (Kate's father got one before she wed William), and then Meghan and Harry will get a coat of arms that uses elements from each of their coat of arms.
The only thing they announce with royal babies is the month they are due. That created quite a wait with George, since they said July, and he was born 7/23, I think.
For Charlotte, I think they said April, but her birthday is May 2.
For this one, I believe they said April, or perhaps mid-April. No c-sections for Kate so far, so no scheduled births or anything.
I also love Meghan. I'm really interested in what she'll wear and what the wedding party will look like! It could be adult friends of the bride, like American tradition. I wonder what they'll wear too.
Wedding gown designer and jewelry/tiara loans won't be revealed until the wedding morning when she is leaving for the ceremony. Harry's new titles (if any) will also not be revealed until that morning. Meghan will take the feminine form of whatever new titles Harry receives, so she'll likely be known as "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of [something]." And she'll also take on the feminine forms of any subsidiary titles he gets, so she'll also likely be known as "Countess of [Scottish location] and Lady [Northern Ireland location]," assuming the Queen does what she did for William.
If, for some reason, Harry does not receive any new titles for his wedding then the only proper way to refer to Meghan will be "Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales."
Re: the new baby, they don't announce babies' due dates or the sex before the birth. William himself commented (to President Obama, actually) that they did not know beforehand if George was a boy or a girl. Who knows how true this is, but ditto hopecounts that if they can't leak it then the smart thing to do is probably to just keep it a surprise for themselves. That's what I'd do, anyway.
If Harry and Meghan have babies during the Queen's lifetime, they will not automatically be entitled to be HRH Prince/Princess style (as they would if Charles is king when they are born). They'd be Lord/Lady X Windsor, with the oldest son using one of Harry's subsidiary titles and then inheriting his Dukedom on Harry's death. The Queen can step in and change this, though, as she did for William's children ... George would've been HRH Prince George regardless since he's the "son of the son of the Prince of Wales" (according to the 1917 Letters Patent), but subsequent children would've been Lady Charlotte Windsor and Lord/Lady Thirdbaby Windsor.
I imagine qe2 will loan a tiara for the wedding. it would be weird if she didn't since she did for Kate.
My money is on Kate being due early April, between being done with engagements now and thinking of time between now and the wedding as a bit of recovery time for her.
ditto others = they don't reveal the sex. My guess is they don't find out. I've seen people speculating that "Kate wore blue today! ITS A BOY!!!" and I'm like....she wears a lot of blue. lol.
Meghan is definitely going to wear a tiara, I'm really excited to see which one. I think it will be something more low profile like Kate's. It's not going to be one of the huge ones IMO.
I'm more interested in her dress though. I love her style so far.
My guess is that Kate is due in early April. I think they planned the wedding a month after the latest she would go (meaning she might be due in a week or two, but I think regardless they assumed there was no way she would give birth past April 19th or so.) I don't think Kate's pregnancy was the "only" factor in their wedding date but I'm sure it was A factor.

I knew it was you i could count on!! Thank you for keeping me unbored in here.
Kate wore blue and pink early on this time and I'd like to think she was purposely messing with people. Lol
Listen if I was her I would be messing with people left and right. I did see Meghan talked about needing future baby stuff in their recent surprise visit. They will totally be having babies in the next year.
You have no idea the rabbit hole I’ve gone down. Thanks guys. However I can’t afford $1785 coats that she wears.

H&M have some great knock-offs
I need a belt for a coat I bought in Japan that looks a lot like one Meghan recently wore. I love it but something was missing and now I know what it is.

Has this changed at all with the new laws about primogeniture in terms of royal succession?

Titles? No. Those are a royal perogative that are handled via letters patent.
Last letters patent didn’t address Harry’s kids, simply made all children of the heir to the PoW HRHs.
The Letters Patent specifically says eldest son.
Now it doesn’t really matter until at least George’s children’s children since there is a direct male line at the moment so his children will have HRHs.
Presumably if George has a first born daughter then they will issue new letters patent if they haven’t already been updated to accommodate that and have her children be HRHs if not already covered as children of the Princess of Wales.

This is interesting. Why would Charlotte use Windsor as a last name? I thought William used Wales as a last name while in school and the military and then switched to using Cambridge when he received his title at marriage. Are those not really “real” surnames.
I think Catherine is due in early/mid April as well. Also, I'm pretty sure William said at some engagement that only she knows the baby's sex.
The queen will give Harry a title for his wedding for sure. My bet is on Sussex.
4speedy, Charlotte would have used Cambridge most likely or Mountbatten-Windsor if she hadn't been styled a princess. William and Catherine have no "real" last name. It is customary to use a title as a last name as William and Harry did with Wales, but the Queen has declared that all of her and Philip's decedents should use Mountbatten-Windsor when they need a last name.

Officially Williams line are house of Windsor (direct line can’t take Mountbatten officially though Edward, Anne and Andrew can) and don’t have an official last name.
They use Windsor/Wales/etc when they need a last name. Often they take their father’s highest title as a name (hence William and Harry using Wales) George uses Cambridge at school according to the name on his backpack in the official photo.
ETA: Charles and William have used Mountbatten for certain purposes but it’s unofficial

What would Kate use?
so their current family of four is:
William Wales Katherine (Wales?) George Cambridge Charlotte Windsor
Probably a dumb question: Do they have something like the US' SS cards? What would be on that?
It isn’t on their birth certificates (no last name listed just of ‘x’) so I would guess similar just Y of X no last name? But it may be one of the situations where they use a last name as a filler depending on what it is.
Probably a dumb question: Do they have something like the US' SS cards? What would be on that?
Their official documents don't include a last name. For example, Prince George's birth registration, note that Catherine has no last name after marriage:

I wish I could write "Princess of the United Kingdom" as my occupation. William may not have a last name, but its still a mouthful. lol

I was following the example set by the daughter of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex (the queen’s youngest son). She was thinking oldest bridesmaid in Williams wedding. She goes by Lady Louise Windsor. Not Lady Louise Wessex.
The queen’s cousins are dukes but their children do not carry royal titles, so they’re Lord/Lady Firstname Windsor. Not Lord/Lady X Kent/Gloucester.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Edward's earl title being temporary.

i think so .... once Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh passes, the title goes to Edward
