I feel like this has been discussed before but I can't find it. I'm trying to find something that offers more coverage under dresses in the summer but won't make me super hot which defeats the whole purpose of wearing a dress. What do you like? Any certain brand names or products to avoid?
do you mean like hose? Or just less of a chance of your undies being seen?
I wear Jockey Skimmies to prevent chaffing and just assurance that nobody can see anything if I bend or sit in a funny way. But if you are looking for a hose alternative I got nothing. I don't wear them ever.
Jockey skimmies. I started wearing them for chafe prevention when I was pg, and kept wearing them afterward because now I wind up crouching down (to my toddler) a lot more and prefer not to flash the world doing it. They are also good for modesty under wrap dresses.
Sorry, I'm thinking bike shorts or something so when I'm running around town, chasing kids, etc. I don't have to worry about flashing anyone or anyone looking up my skirt.
I would wear something like this. Doesn't have to be high waist. They have some with a cotton feel fabric or Lycra depending on what you like. They prevent chafing, are invisible and smooth out your shape/panty lines.
I just wear underpants but between this and the responses in the preteen modesty post yesterday I am realizing I am a passive exhibitionist.
I only wear dresses and don’t really care if I flash people lol. I mean, I know how to sit, stand, bend over, pick things up and crouch down in a skirt/dress without flashing people but if it happens, eh. As I used to say in elementary school, if you don’t like what you see, stop looking!
I have seen some underdress shorts at Target and Nordstrom lately that seem popular though. And some half slips which seem to be making a modest comeback. The slips would sort of obscure things while still being flowy I would think.

Skimmies don't work with my body. I've tried all sizes and they either go up my thigh making a lovely roll or fall down from the top. Sigh. I'll just flash people in the London wind. Sorry.
For all of you who like the skimmies, I see they come in different lengths. What length do you like?
ETA: can you tell me your height and weight and what size you order?
I am 5’6” and ~195 and wear an XL (but honestly I haven’t worn a dress since October ish when I was closer to 205-210). I also wore an XL at ~270 (I want to puke writing that out) both times I was very very pregnant. I might try to buy a L or 2 going into this spring/summer. I wear the longer length ones only. When I was pregnant I pulled them up over my belly. ETA: I am a 16 in pants, rarely a 14, and an XL on top, rarely a L.
Underwear. I wear underwear. It's too hot to be wearing extra layers. If there is some chance my skirt flips up and someone sees said underwear, I am confident they have seen underwear before and will get over it quickly.
I don't put on anything additional. I do buy some skorts, which I like, if I want to be more active. I feel like anything else would end up shifting and being uncomfortable.

Underwear. I feel very comfortable in just underwear, maybe because I don’t wear particularly short dresses or skirts. They’re all at least to the top of my knees.

Underwear. I try to make sure they aren’t that time of month ones. I wear decent looking ones. Everybody has an ass. Don’t look if you don’t want to see it.

I barely wear dresses or skirts since I chafe really badly. I usually just wear my underwear and use body glide on my thunder thighs like crazy but thanks to this thread I just ordered the jockey skimmies. You may just of expanded my wardrobe!

The same thing I wear with pants which is a thong. I tried those skimmers they are not comfortable . I do not have air conditioning in work,I do not want an extra layer.
