DS is invited to a bday party this weekend for twins. Would you buy them the same thing or two similar things? (The same Paw Patrol characters, for example, or two different characters) They are boys, turning 4 and have an older brother, if that matters
Only get two of the same if it's something you're really really sure they'll fight over. Most of the stuff my kids have two of they hardly play with the second item.
I bought 2 different characters already, and then DS asked why we were getting them different things. I think I’ll stick with my plan and include the gift receipts.
Thanks! I thought I had this all straightened out until DS asked a completely reasonable question that caused me to wonder if I should exchange one.

Definitely stick with your original plan. You have a gift receipt. No need to go out of your way. It will totally be fine.SaveSave

I would either get two similar toys or something that works better with a partner.
I have twin sisters and my dd and her cousins are all within months of each other. We do things like instrument and microphone, board games, ball and gloves with a ball and bat.
Walkie talkies have probably been the biggest hit. They love playing spies.

Agree
Yup, i agree too. And I hate storing two of the same item where they never play with the second one (but you know the day you get rid of the second one, they'll remember they have two of that item and it will become a huge fight/tantrum/tears/etc. about where the second one went).

Agree with the other twin moms. Most people have gotten our twins gifts that are similar and not exactly the same and that has worked well.
