I live for these Target collaborations. I love everything I got for myself and the girls from Victoria Beckham's collection last year and from Marimekko a few years ago. Off to look at the Hunter stuff.
Their collaborations have historically happened in April.
The other collaborations seemed to have stuff for summer though. It just seems like an odd time to buy rain boots and raincoats, especially for kids.
Not really---Hunters brand is specifically for spring so right around now. They started out as gardening shoes, I think. If you look through the collection there's a lot of stuff that would be good for spring/summer--picnic type stuff, beach blankets, cooler type stuff, beer coozies.
I want to check out the boots tomorrow, I'm wondering how quickly they will sell out. I like the wide calf boots.
These are the only boots I could find that fit my wide feet boy. I need all the sizes!
icedcoffee , it depends on where you live. Seattle area.... yes, yes they do. Like snow boots in snowy areas.
Hmm---I'm in MD so it does rain, but not like it does in Seattle. I usually just carry him if it's raining a lot. Haha That's probably not sustainable long term. I wish I could predict what size he'll be in the fall.
Who am I kidding, I'll probably buy him some if they're still there when I shop. Maybe a raincoat too! LOL
I can probably resell for quite a bit when he's done with them.

My California bias must be showing - the rain boots and raincoats in bright colors won’t be getting much use for a while!

Oh yeah---our spring and rainy season is just starting over here.

I've ignored all the emails until now and realize that I should probably pick up some things. We are int he PNW so rainboots are practically staples for at least 9mos out of the year.

I agree! I live in Seattle so obviously we get tons of rain, but June-September are our dry months and that leaves like a month-ish of use before we'd put them away until Fall.
These are cute though so I might just order a size up and put them away for next year.
If you have a Red Card I think you can shop the collection early. I kind of brushed it off because I assumed they wouldn't have the wide calf version but it sounds like they might?
ETA nevermind, it's just a couple bags you can buy right now
I'm considering getting DS a pair, but realistically he grows so quick. Do toddlers really need rain boots? Probably not.
My boys LOVE their rain boots! We all love going out in the rain and splashing in puddles. They love jumping in every puddle in the parking lot when it has rained recently.
I love that one pair can last several sizes. DS2 is currently in 13 shoes. He has size 11 boots that he still likes to wear, but also wears a pair that is size 13.
I usually buy the fun designs, though. Both of his pairs light up (I usually don't buy light-up shoes). One pair is sharks and the other is dinosaurs. I don't care about style when it's raining...they're fun on crappy days!

FYI - my 4-year-old has only worn rain boots once ever, and only because he wanted an excuse to wear them. I don’t wear rain boots myself! Remember, if you don’t like the weather in MD, wait 15 minutes :-D

Ds2 loves his light up rain boots he wears them all the time. Rain or shine. I love it
Welp, it's 3:45 AM EDT (I'm at work, didn't set my alarm or anything lol) and the collection must have just launched around 3? By the time I was able to log on around 3:20 there were no tall toddler boots to be had, I did get the short pink abstract print ones and the matching raincoat for DD, and a pair of slides for me but the tall women's boots have all been delayed. No word on when they might be available.

I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but I'm curious as to why everyone is so excited about this? To my thinking, lots of companies make cute rain gear for kids, and most of it is pretty cheap, which works well because kids outgrow that stuff so quickly. Hunter is a name brand that is known for quality rain gear, but do you really think the quality of the stuff they make for Target is going to be on par with their original stuff that is triple the price? And if the quality isn't on par, why would you pay $40 for rain boots when you can get the same kind of stuff for $15? Is it just for the 'name'? And if so, doesn't the fact that they are Hunters from Target make that 'name' not really worth it?
I got DS and I matching raincoats and a pair of socks for me. If the quality sucks I'll return both. Would have liked some boots for DS but probably won't venture to the store for it. Might try to get myself some boots when they launch but I'm sure those will sell out in like 5 seconds.

I generally agree. I guess I got wrapped up in the hype but my hunters are seriously awesome and the only boots to not crack after 2 wears. I'm hoping Hunter wouldn't slap their name on a shitty product. For kids, I agree that they outgrow so quickly but rainboots that crack and leak are worthless. Also, quality and cute products resell on BST boards around here for a lot. The kids boots are $25 and I can probably get $15 when he's done with them.

Quality may very well be good. I bought from the Lilly collab and most of my stuff still looks as good as new today. It wasn’t Lilly Pulitzer quality but it definitely was not target quality either. It struck a good middle ground. That being said I already have a pair of full price hunter boots so I won’t be buying from this collab, but I can see why others would.
I got some rain boots and a rain coat for B, and I got a rain jacket and sweater. I’m bummed, there was a cute oversized sweatshirt in the plus size collection last night, but this morning it was gone. Like not sold out, just not even posted anymore I was on minutes after it launched (thanks nursing baby) so I would have thought it would have at least just shown as unavailable if it sold out that fast...

I ran into a family friend this morning. She and her girls lined up outside before Target opened and each got boots. They looked ugly to me, softer and bumpier than other Hunters. But I was in camp “it’s hype” anyway.
