I am in the process of cleaning out my closet. Is it acceptable to bring my clothes / blankets etc in a trash bag for donation?
We usually have boxes in the house which is what I use but right now we don't have any laying around. I could see if DH could bring some home from work but the trash bags would be easier.
I use plastic grocery bags, since I always have a million laying around, and the smaller bags are easier to carry.
I also make a list for myself of what's in each bag, since the receipt from Goodwill always just says "X bags of clothes." Then I use Turbo Tax to assign an actual value to the stuff come tax time.
No but seriously. Why did you think it might not be ok?
trash bag = trash trash bag =/= good items of value
This is just my train of thought... I normally do not use trash bags unless it is for trash... probably because I can get boxes so easily at work, but I am on vacation this week...

So do you think using a trash bag may come across as casting judgment on the goods you're donating or the people to whom you're donating them? You realize you're way overthinking this, right?
