I have one. I don't use it very often. Most of my trips are either on the interstate, and I don't like wind coming into my car at 70+ mph, or they are 5-minute trips where I don't bother opening the sunroof.

It was an extra on a lot of the crossovers we looked at last year. I wanted one, but wasn't willing to pay a lot extra for it --- DH refused to pay extra for JUST the sunroof. I've had them on my last three cars 96/02 Explorer - the smaller ones that either slide all the way back or would pop up to vent. Both had full covers - the 2002's cover was better and didn't have the little vents that let in a bit of light. My 2011 Forester - any of them above the base model come standard with the giant one - it has a a full cover - but it doesn't have a vent mode - either open or closed - but it has three different open settings. Normal size - large but not fully open - fully opened (this isnt recommended to drive with, just use while parked it is really nosiey) I love the thing.
DH's civic when he purchased, was standard only on the top of the line.
A sunroof is a must for me. I love it and use it whenever the weather is amenable (like NOW).
My car has a standard sliding sunroof with shade/cover. DH's Mini Cooper has the full panel of glass that goes the length of the car, but it has a mesh shade/liner and I don't like that you cannot block out the sun.

It does, but I would have preferred that it not have one. I've seen too many that have leaked and even if it doesn't ruin the interior of the car, it can make it smell musty. But in the car we bought, there wasn't an option not to have one.
Both our cars have them and I love them! We open them a lot when it is nice out and even if not, I like the glass for making it brighter in the car. I use the tilt feature to get better fresh air circulation on the highway. I wish they were more standard. It is unfortunately a feature we love and that may be a pain when we need to buy a new car. We don't want all the extra features that come in the luxury package, but I do want the moon roof!
Yes, we have a sunroof and actually went out of our way to get a car with one because I wanted one so badly. I've had my car for 5 years and I think I've used it 5-10 times. We definitely won't care about it in the future.
I have one and I use it all the time--especially when the car has been sitting for awhile and its hot. I open the top and start blowing the air and it cools faster I think-unless I'm sitting in traffic of coarse.
I love sun roofs and have it in all of our cars except my convertible and H's sports car which didn't offer it as an option. Apparently it weighs 300lbs and slows his car down haha.
My 1999 has one and I rarely open it all the way, but regularly pop the back of it open so it's more like a moonroof. Honestly, I love it and use it enough that way that I'd want at least a moonroof in my next car.

I have a moonroof. I do not use it as often as I thought I would. I don't like that it pulls my hair up when I am driving, so I tend to only use it when my hair is up.
It was standard on the version that I got. There are other amenities that I like better with that version.
My first car was a 98 Priszm, and the sunroof/moonroof was a huge selling point for me. I used it a lot and loved it.
We have a 2004 Pacifica now, and don't use it as much. This is mostly because we usually have our 2yr old son in the back, and inevitably the sun hits his eyes. I feel slightly claustrophobic in cars that don't have one because I'm so used to it, but I wouldn't pay a huge amount extra for it because it's not that necessary.
I do, but I don't really open it. I just like the open space above me. I feel too closed in if it's not there (i.e. when I have a rental or drive my mom's car).
Yes. I love it. I don't think I could drive a car without one now. Even if it isn't open, I always have the shade open so the light is coming in through the top of the car.
Heated seats is another thing I couldn't live without. Oh, and remote start. Not that you asked.

Sunroofs were not standard on either my or H's car. We both have mid-level models of our respective vehicles. I don't understand the purpose and/or need for a sun/moonroof. Growing up, my mom's car had a sunroof. It was silly.
Our last 2 vehicles did. We didn't get it on the new one. I like it in the winder to make the car brighter but never used it in the summer. Not worth it to me.
Mine does not, but I ordered it that way. I had them in every other car I owned, and I never used it. When I ordered this one, I chose not to get one and spend the money on upgrades that I would actually use.
In my experience, yes, they're part of the highest trim level, or at least are part of an accessory package that most people do not need. We ended up with a sunroof on our car (2012 Subaru Outback), and oddly, it's only available as a package with the back-up camera option. I didn't care about having either option, but the car was a Limited with all the other options we wanted, and was priced very competitively because another dealership had traded for it, so voila! We ended up with a sunroof.
I was actually just commenting to H last week how I never use it, and actually forget it's there most of the time. I do love our back-up camera, though, especially since it's integrated into the rearview mirror.
