My local fitness and rec department is doing an "obstacle scramble" to raise money for their after school stuff (I think). Essentially, it's a mud run. But ... it's only a mile race.
It's next weekend and registration is $25 - including a t-shirt. I was absolutely going to do it until I found out that it was only a mile, and now I'm reconsidering because I'm worried that I'm going to be practically the only adult there.
I am doing a down-n-dirty in October, so I could go and consider it a little training run for practice running/crawling in mud ... ??
I would. It is raising money for the school so it is a good cause. I don't think it only being a mile means you will be the only adult, I think that they were probably aiming to get more people to participate. To non-runner a 5k or whatever is a 'marathon' and they think it is not possible for them.
