We're once again moving due to my husband's job, and for the first time in my 12-year teaching career I'm being asked to supply a cover letter. Any tips or suggestions for what I should include? My resume will also be attached to the application, and short of explaining why I've worked for three districts in three different states I'm not sure what else I should include in this letter.
Looking at the cover letters for people who have applied for our jobs, it's mostly a paragraph about interest, something about why they love teaching, expanding some on some of the biggest stuff on the resume, and then a line about thanking us for the consideration.
I beg of you, spell and grammar check your letter!

I just went through interviews two weeks ago. My take away from being a part of that process are that all of the cover letters were too damn long. I think georgeglass offers a good summary.
