We're moving from S. Florida to KCMO area and driving up in a few weeks with stops along the way in Chattanooga for 2 nights, Nashville for 4, and ending in downtown KC for a few nights until we settle into our house outside the city. No kids, one dog, and we're not picky with food, drinks, and entertainment.
Are you staying in downtown Chattanooga and Downtown Nashville? Do you like to hike?
We’ll be downtown in both locations. A Marriott in Chattanooga and the Sheraton in Nashville. We would like to take the dog hiking if we could to get him some exercise after all the time in the car.

If you’re in Nashville on a Saturday, Musicians Corner is a lot of fun and dog-friendly (and free!) I think Radnor Lake is also dog friendly for hiking.
Chattanooga has great hiking, including right over the border in Georgia. Check to see which trails allow dogs.
