Im interested in tomorrow's Portugal v. Spain game. I can't really seem to get into World Cup mode right now. Maybe as some of the teams are eliminated it will be better.

Same here. I'm usually stoked and putting calendar blocks at work so I can take a long lunch or four.. but not this year. I did find a local German pub for Sunday, so hopefully that'll help.
For me, I think it also has to do with the fact that we moved and it's the first summer I'm away from my large soccer fam in Denver I'm going to miss watching Germany games with my in-laws and other matches with friends from those countries.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
The crew working on our kitchen remodel was listening earlier. I thought about offering to put it on the TV downstairs for them, but I know how it sucks people in....

Sort of the same. I was commenting to someone how I seriously burned out on sports at my last job because following them BECAME my job. So events like the World Cup and the Olympics were stressful and not fun.
Now that I'm elsewhere, I'm hoping once we get thru a few of the games this year I'll get back into it like I did with the Winter Olympics this year.
I'm looking forward to the Germany v. Mexico game. It's always such a contrast in playing styles. Plus we'll be able to watch it real-time.
That last free kick was amazing. Spain tried to throw him off his game by announcing the tax fraud stuff hours before the game and instead motivated him to score a hat trick

I had a kick out of Iceland’s “Hey we didn’t lose!” celebration. But good for them!
This match’s announcers are the best.
Back in 1999 or 2000 the national team played France, reigning World Cup champions, and only lost by one point. People in Iceland talked about that for years! We were so proud.
So basically, not losing is 100 times better than that!
