I have an interview tomorrow morning. It has been 7 years since I've been on a job interview so I'm feeling nervous and quite rusty. The job is in the education field, working with youth of all ages. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!!!

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have Have a good handshake Smile Bring copies of your resume Have questions ready for them Have answers ready for "typical" interview questions, even if you hate the questions Don't be afraid to say "I don't know", but follow it up by thinking/talking through the question/scenario and/or asking for clarification Take a second or 2 before you answer a question Ask about timeframes for next steps at the end Get contact information so you can thank interviewers in writing afterward (this will probably spawn the age-old argument over whether this is necessary, but I'm sticking to my guns ) Ask if they feel you're qualified to make it to next steps
Be sure to use "I" not "We" when describing your job duties. And don't bend the truth about what you actually did.
Also if you are prone to rambling, say the most important part of your answer first. Interviewers may zone out on really long answers. Obviously being concise is ideal.
It's okay to pause and think about an answer.
Go in prepared with some of your biggest achievements and weaknesses you have made efforts to improve upon.

Great advice--definitely have some stories to tell that paint you in a positive light.
Prepare thoughtful questions about the organization and its place in the world (and how you'd fit in). If it feels right, your last question should be something along the lines of "Do you have any concerns about me as a candidate for this position that I can address for you while we are together?"
