I own my own writing and editing business. I write web copy for retailers and other businesses -- mostly product descriptions, blog posts, and category page content. I edit all sorts of documents but primarily focus on academic pieces like dissertations and journal articles.
Before starting my business 9 years ago, I worked as a technical writer/editor in the defense industry and as a newspaper syndicate editor before that.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be offensive. I teach at a Catholic school and I know we do straight up abstinence so I'm always curious what other religious/private schools do. Feel free to tell me "MYOB!"

Lol. Quakers and Catholics couldn't be more different then.
My class is pretty open. I talk about anything and everything. I teach gender identity and fluidity, sexuality, pregnancy, childbirth, contraceptive, a range of sexual behaviors. Nothing is off limits (except my own sex life lol).
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I’ve taught high school English for the last twelve years and love it, but am currently getting my MLIS so I can transition into school librarianship in the next 4-5 years.
I’m a Project Manager in the Design Industry. My background is a technical designer but I have a very broad portfolio, so the work I’m managing isn’t directly the type of design I went to school for, but there’s tons of crossover.
I had lots of random jobs in high school and college. I was a kids face painter at one point, and lol, that was the only job I actually had to do a drawing for in the middle of the interview.

My biology teacher at my Catholic school barricaded the door and taught us how to put condoms on dildos. I’m grateful for that bit of education! It was an all girls school and she drilled it into us that we should carry condoms and know how to use them if we were going to be having sex. She didn’t want us depending on a guy/expecting a guy to handle it.
I am a Landscape Architect by license and my role is more site planner/project coordinator. I help design sites, from access to building locations, and then do the landscape layout, and coordinate the applications through jurisdictional reviews. This may include playing the middleman between the client and the City/county and making public presentations. I currently do mostly small-scale commercial development work in an office with CivilEngineers and other LAs, but I’ve also done large residential community planning, park system master plans and dabbled in historic preservation/restoration work.
Two summers during college I worked for the state parks making campground reservations (basically a call center where people called to reserve sites). The job doesn’t exist anymore, it’s all outsourced to a national company and online. I got a lot of cross stitch and reading done then.
I am a proposal manager for an industrial construction company. I work with our business development and estimating teams to package proposals for clients that include pricing, project schedules, site team resumes, contract requirements, etc.
I sort of fell into this job after I made a career change from restaurant management. I took an admin job at my company after DS1 was born because I wanted a more typical schedule. I was promoted not long after that into this role and have since been promoted again. I actually really enjoy it. It's basically project management, which isn't so different than restaurant management, really.
I've been a SAHM for 4 years now. Previously, I worked for 12 years in fund development (fundraising) for a large local branch of a major non-profit. I worked primarily with big donors--people making larger-size annual contributions. It was a very interesting and rewarding job in many ways, but somehow never felt like quite the right fit for me. I was very ready for a change after 12 years and left when our third child (of four) was just over a year old.

Oh how awesome! The church elders would be all aflutter at my school!

I work in contracting for the federal government. I'm actually in management, so I don't get to do as much hands on work as I used to.
I've worked off and on for the government since I was 16 with various summer internships in high school and college. Then I went full time after grad school. I've been with this office since 2007.
I'm a 3rd generation civil servant. Grandfather, both parents, and an uncle have all been in federal service.
Office manager at a petroleum lab. I used to work as an IT analyst in oil and gas so this is a step down but it's super flexible and I only work 30 hours a week which is so nice!
Data analyst/strategist who is working her way to the data science level. Since grad school, I’ve been in the research world, specifically focusing on educational equity.
Librarian. I've worked as a public, academic and school librarian with a variety of age groups. I'm currently an elementary school librarian. It can be stressful, but I love, love, love my job and love getting school breaks/summer off.
