I'm a librarian. I started as a librarian trainee in January 2007 when I also started graduate school, and then became a librarian when I got my degree in January 2009. A few months later, I was internally promoted to a branch manager position, spent a couple of years there, then got another internal promotion to oversee the main research department in the system (if you've been a library tourist in NYC, you most likely visited that department). After several more years, I was offered an incredible opportunity elsewhere (director of a library consortium) and while I wish things had turned out differently there (members were hostile towards me since the beginning no matter how hard I worked and what I achieved), I realized it was never going to get better so I left after a few stressful years after I was wooed back by my previous employer. Now I oversee 13 branch libraries, and it's great. I've had a variety of experiences in a variety of libraries and administrative roles, which has been fun. But I feel like I've been super ambitious during a short period of time (I'm only 36) and I've got a long career ahead of me, so I'm hoping my current position is one I can keep for a long long time and I've got no plans to move on for a while.
ETA: Damn, that was longer than it probably needed to be, lol.
Labor and delivery nurse. Previously nursery/NICU/postpartum nurse, telemetry/cardiac, and trauma/orthopedic nursing. And I was an ER tech before nursing school.
I'm currently in graduate school to get my family nurse practitioner. My RE has already told me that she would hire me as an infertility NP if she could figure out a way to afford me.

I use to do administrative work at a few different colleges. Now I stay at home and am in school for my master’s in HR. I hope to work in higher education when I’m finished.
I am a user experience designer. I create the layout of webpages and apps and (hopefully) make them easy to use. I credit Apple for making my job title 10000% more understandable by old/non-tech people.
I'm a Category Manager in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry. I help a major retailer determine what products to keep on their shelves (and in what order on the shelf), when to promote it, at what discount, etc.
My "day job" is a product manager at a clothing company. I basically figure out a collection two years out, work with a design team that designs it and a development team that "brings it to life" from the patterns to the actual garment. There's also working with the factories who actually product the garments, consumer insights (focus groups, etc.) and "trendwatching/inspiration" which basically is like shopping. I like to say I get paid to shop, lol (I don't officially, but I do have to keep track of trends, competitors, etc.) There's alot more to it than that. I really enjoy what I do.
My "side job" is a family and wedding photographer.

I will begin my 20th year of teaching this fall. Most of my career was in 8th grade English with singletons of 9-12 each year, until last year when they moved me to all 11th and 12th grades.

I SAH now and am dabbling in politics. Prior to SAH I worked as an historical interpreter for a local living history museum. Picture the people in costume at Williamsburg but on a way smaller scale.
Licensed Veterinary Technician. Besides a pizza place and telemarketing in high school it's all I've ever done. The emotional and physical stress is unreal and the pay is shit. But I can't imagine doing anything else. And I truly love what I do.
Military Officer. I’m rated as a navigator but my actual job description changes pretty often. My last job was working with cadets at the Air Force Academy, and I’m just now leaving to go do flight instruction (and probably leadership/managerial work).
I am the communications manager for a disease-specific nonprofit. I've been in communications for health-related nonprofits for my entire career.
The pay is terrible and the expectations are unrealistic, so I'm currently having a serious mid-life crisis and trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
I am VP of Business Development for a credit union. I basically run the sales department - any sales training as well as internal and external sales activities fall under my umbrella.
I love my role and I negotiated a very flexible schedule so it is a great fit for my family.
Prior to this I was at Chase bank for 11 years in various sales/training/management roles. It paid very well, I had some really great opportunities and promotions, but it was an absolute soul sucking place that required 50-55 hours a week. I could not leave there fast enough.
I've been an accountant for the past 10 years. I've worked for a CPA doing taxes and bookkeeping, insurance accounting, and recently worked at a real estate company. I loved real estate and the type of work but hated the company and quit when I had a baby in February.
I'm back in school to be a special ed teacher which was something I wanted to do for years. I started last fall, took spring off and will graduate Fall 2019 with my masters. I'm planning to sub until I student teach.

countthestars, glitzy07, your job fascinate me. What is your degree(s) in? Did you stumble upon this or did you know you were interested in this field?
I am an analyst. A data dork. I’ve worked in roles focused on operations, supply chain, treasury and finance for huge corporates and small companies. I’ve consulted with large scale system implementations and have begun working on developing and selling my own programs.

zarapipe, My degree is in marketing and I focused on Market Research in college because I knew that I leaned more analytical than creative. I stumbled on this particular role, though, and it's really fascinating stuff!
