When I want to look at food porn and get good ideas, I go here: paleomg.com/
Some of the stuff she posts isn't completely strictly paleo, but I'd say it's good 80-90% of the time.
I've lately been obsessed with Paleo "spaghetti" and meatballs.... made with kelp noodles and/or zucchini noodles, crushed tomatoes, parmesean cheese and organic grass fed beef / pork / lamb meatballs.
Again, depends on how strict you are.... whether you're eating dairy or not. I'm not AS strict as the others are, but I need a little dairy in my diet. I try to do paleo most of the time and give myself 2-3 cheat meals a week.
Thank LFF. I'm DYING. But sort of hanging in there.
KC--that is a good blog. I think maybe my difficulty has been that I'm trying to be 100 percent paleo? What benefits have you noticed from being on Paleo? (I need some encouragement here!)

Every day Paleo, Health Bent, Nom Nom Paleo, Practical Paleo, there are a TON of awesome sites out there!! I'm hooked on spaghetti squash lately, I either eat it like spaghetti or I put it in my veggie scrambles and it makes it like sort of a "hash" I guess.
Even some of the "treatS" from PaleOMG are 100% strict, so check it out!
Don't be afraid to try new things. One of my fave Paleo recipes is bacon covered brussel sprouts from Nom Nom Paleo. I fucking LOOOVE it. And also, I wanted to try eggplant so I found a stuffed eggplant recipe from Everyday Paleo and it's fantastic.
Try lots of flavorings, apple cider vinegar, basalmic, white wine vinegar, spices, etc. It makes things a lot more interesting!
www.health-bent.com/beef/paleo-hawaiian-barbecue-bacon-burgers <-- these are heaven! to be 100% Paleo you have to either make your own BBQ sauce (there are paleo recipes out there) or find a kind that doesn't have any sugar/weird shit. The site has other yummy looking recipes too
Thanks all! I think I must have just hit upon some bad recipes. I'm actually a really good cook and very used to a variety of foods/spices but literally every.single.thing I've tried the last two weeks has been holy unsatisfying. I'm down to 900 calories a day.
I did make my own mayo! That was good.
Do you ladies still count calories or notice it's not necessary as long as you are eating balanced paleo (i.e. not eating tons of paleo pancakes and bacon all day).
so with Paleo, I can have bacon but not cheese? This sounds interesting. I am going to have to look into this more.
Yes technically but you have to find bacon without sugar and other additives which is hard. I actually love that you can have bacon though. I find it really satisfying.

If you stick to strict paleo and you aren't eating "treats" I don't think you should have to worry about calories. I've heard that a lot of the time if you are doing paleo and you aren't losing weight you need to up your fat intake, so if you add in like an avocado or macadamia nuts a lot of the time that helps. I found that very interesting!

That is super interesting and that's what I've heard. My main goal of Paleo is not to lose weight, but the overall health benefits and hopefully to get me off the dieting roller coaster. I have notice that eating higher fat foods naturally causes me to eat less. I've been tracking calories just to see and I've actually been on the low end.
Oh and I FINALLY had a good meal last night. Fresh caught salmon with a homemade coconut mayo sauce and a baked sweet potato. I feel SO much better now.

That sounds amazing!!! Yes, the health benefits are awesome. I had a couple weeks where I was really stressed out and not eating, I could tell a huge difference in the gym. I finally started eating more, and yesterday I got in a lot of good food, mostly Paleo and I felt AMAZING last night at CF, I didn't get light headed, and I got a PR on my back squat! HOLLA!!! 130 POUNDS BITCHES!
Also, when I'm good and stick to Paleo my stomach NEVER gets upset. After being mostly paleo for a few months I went down to Portland with a friend and just ate whatever I wanted, the next day we went to Mt Hood first thing in the AM, and on the way home I remember feeling like I was going to shit my pants from all the crap I'd eaten!

Awesome! That's good to know. I've noticed my runs have been improving quite a bit and I'm starting to sleep WAY better. Glad to know it's likely not just in my head. I'm hoping this will finally lead to a flatter tummy. It's so out of proportion to the rest of my body it's insane.
