A lame evening in Vegas, but whatever.
I have a race in Lake Mead on the 6th. After the race is over, H and I are going to see whatever there is to see at the Hoover Dam, then we're staying on Fremont Street. We're not sure whether we're going to stay on Fremont to eat or go somewhere "fancy"-ish like Top of the World. Regardless, after dinner (which will probably be relatively early due to having to drive all the way home to NorCal the following day) we're going to hang out on Fremont a bit and enjoy the scenery. So to speak.
WTH do I take? Obviously I've got race morning and post-race covered. Swimsuit, sweats, shorts, my sponsor gear, etc. But after we check in and I get a chance to shower ... will dressy jeans and a nice top work for everything? Or do I need a cocktail dress or LBD?
Dressy jeans and a nice job would be more than adequate. When I went there last year, I noticed ANYTHING goes - from sneakers, cargo shorts, hawaiian shorts and fanny packs, to slinky dresses and next to nothing. It didn't matter if it was walking the strip, out to dinner or at a show.

This exactly.
We went to a super nice restaurant one time with my brother wearing shorts. It was very elegant. At their sister restaurant in another city, there is a very strict dress code, but not for Vegas.
