I like the Polar water bottles. The largest size is too big for school, IMO, but they have a medium size and a small one. I ordered a couple of the medium (20 oz., I think?) off Amazon for my kids for school water bottles.
They won't keep water cold forever, especially if they're in direct sunlight, but they can last at least three or four hours. I fill them at night before bed and store them in the fridge overnight with the lid off, then add ice cubes right before I leave the house.
Polar water bottle! I think they are definitely the best of the plastic options. They aren’t going to keep ice as long as a stainless steel water bottle would but I do think they do a much better job than other plastic containers (most of which have no real insulation).
I have one (medium size I think) and my boys use the small kid size.
I was going to suggest polar too. Unfortunately my boys lost 3 of them during summer camp this year, including one I use for biking. Gotta buy a few more.

Of all of them, Polar is probably your best bet but I used them and my stuff became warm after 3 hours or so, in an air-conditioned setting. The stainless steel has really spoiled me and my kids. Mine also sweat terribly, which I didn't love. But maybe I got a bad batch. Luckily, Xavier lost all 3 and I never replaced them, lol.

My children use the 'Avex FreeFlow Autoseal Water Bottle'. They do not care about the temp of the water so I am not sure how long the water remains cold. If cold water is a must fill the bottle half-way and freeze overnight. In the morning fill the bottle up and the water will stay cold all day.

I love the regular Tupperware bottles believe it or not...so easy to drink out of. I've gotten several people hooked on them. I think you can order without knowing a consultant, definitely wait for a sale
