I usually don't take coffee to work but I want to start when it gets cooler. My issue in the past, though, is that I haven't found a decent travel mug that I like. I want one that will stay hot and won't leak (this was the biggest issue in the past.) Do you have any you'd recommend?
I have a fake Yeti that I got as a give away promo that I like a lot. My problem is that it actually stays too hot. I put 3 ice cubes in before I pour my coffee. LOL Any stainless steal mug should be pretty good for heat retention.
Do you need it to be spillproof when upside down? The problem with those I find is that the lids contain rubber and eventually they start to smell like stale coffee. The "Yeti" I have is not spillproof.

No, it doesn't need to be spill proof, but I've bought ones in the past that when I take a drink it leaks/drips on me. Like there isn't a good seal on the lid.
I just realized I have a travel mug at work, but it's the one that I use for water every day. I don't know if it leaks because i use a straw. Hmm..

Oh yeah--I hate that. Try a good stainless steal cup (totally stainless--not just stainless on the outside and plastic on the inside). I think plastic is more prone to leaking. My fake Yeti is good so I bet the real deal is the same or better.
I have one by MyBevi that I like because it keeps my coffee hot until lunchtime - I use it with a reusable straw, though, so I can't speak to how leak-proof it is when drinking directly from the spout. It was $10 at Target. My coworkers swear by their Yetis, but I've heard most knock-offs are just as good. I also had the Ello campy mug that someone recommended above, and I LOVED it, but I lost track of it for a while and when I found it, it was still full of coffee so I had to toss it.
I also have a couple of 24oz Tervis tumblers that keep my coffee warm for just the right amount of time in the morning, but they are plastic.
I like my Yeti. It keeps my coffee so hot and cold drinks really cold. But it was a gift... I don't think I'd willingly spend so much on a cup. I've heard good things about the knockoff that Walmart sells. I have a knockoff wine cup from Target and it leaks when I sip from it (so I usually use a reusable straw with it)
Their coffee travel mugs will keep your coffee hot or cold for 12 hours. It’s the best I’ve ever used (way better than contigo or hydroflask for hot). And they won’t leak
My husband swears by his Zojirushi but the rubber nub on the flip top always leaves coffee on his nose. I have the same problem with my Hydroflask. On a daily basis, I reach for my Contigo, even though it only keeps coffee hot for a couple of hours.

The Contigo thermos with the button and lock on top actually locks and doesn’t spill at all. It’s almost overkill but I have a toddler so it’s perfect for me. He’s knocked over my coffee many times and never a splash.
I like my yeti knockoffs for coffee too. I have one real yeti, and 3 knockoffs, and they all work the same. Bonus, when I've finished my coffee, I wash it at work then it's my water cup for the rest of the day.
My Starbucks travel mug is my FAVORITE for spill proof though. Also pricey.

My DH swears by his Zojirushi as well. He works nights and if he ever has any coffee left, it is still hot in the morning from the night before. He has gone through several brands before and either they didn't keep the beverage hot or they were flimsy and leaked. He has had no issues with this one. You can purchase on Amazon.
