When MH picked BB up today he said they made a point of telling him her soiled clothes were in plastic bags in her tote bag we use to bring her stuff to school each day.
They said closed toe sandals are fine so we’ll send her keens that she wears on the weekends as her backup shoes.

Huh. So much for the “policy” of leaving soiled items in the hallway.
I’d definitely be annoyed, but not in “burn it down” mode (unless it kept happening). I think having stuff get ruined or go missing is an unfortunate side effect of having kids in daycare, though losing shoes really sucks! I guess it depends on your personal philosophy on footwear, I would probably go to Target and pick up some less expensive shoes that I wouldn’t mind losing.

I would be annoyed.
I would expect reimbursement from the center but not from the teacher. I would not inventory everything. I would take the cost of the shoes and add some money to that. We have never lost a pair of shoes to potty training so I would be annoyed at that.
When I dropped BB off this AM, the lead teacher said that they even looked in the dumpster yesterday, which I said they really didn't have to. I reiterated multiple times yesterday and today that accidents happen, and this is just one of those things. She said they would pay, and I asked if she meant her or the center. She said the center should, but if they don't, she will. I said we do not want her to be personally responsible and left it at that.
Another parent asked me if they found the shoes this morning and I said no. The other parent said something similar happened to them. You don't say? Why am I not surprised. I said things happen, they were pee soaked shoes, it's fine. KOKO, right?
MH has never warmed to the center, so this really colors his opinion in addition to a list of other things he (and I) doesn't particularly like. We're not in burn it down mode, but it's just really annoying.
