You guys. It is so hot here. And humid. Even at 5am. MAKE IT STAAAAAHHHHHP. I'm so ready to get back to my post run shower coffee being hot to help warm me up more, instead of being cold because the thought of anything hot makes me sweat more than I already am after a hot sweaty run.
osulori I'm with you! I thought I was walking out into a swimming pool the last few mornings. We have another 3 weeks or so of 90 degrees before it "cools down" to the mid 80s.
I had to walk across the street to our other office for a meeting and I have not stopped sweating. I'm so sick of being gross all the time. Ugh. We are getting relief tomorrow though- I think of only 70....yahooo!!!!! And then it'll be hot again, but I'll take it.
The feels like was 101 when I tried to run today, I had to bail and finish up on the treadmill. Of course my watch isn't calibrated at all correctly for the treadmill.
On the one hand, I'm like "Yeah! It's still summer, I'm going to bask while I can!" On the other hand, it's going to be 96 and VERY humid when I have my training session today at my (un-airconditioned) gym.
In good news, I'm apparently really good at hand stand push-ups!

I am doing my long run (11 miles) tomorrow to take advantage. Looks like we might not even break into the 70s.

Today on the other hand is horrible!
I couldn't even walk the dog just now! Poor dude got ripped off. Then after dark it's a mosquito-fest. Perfect day for a long run tomorrow- enjoy!!

We ended up doing a bike ride on the canal. Dumb decision. So hot yet so windy! Lol! It was such a struggle. Tomorrow is going to feel frigid after the last few days!
ugh, hot up in northern New England, too. And humid. I went for my run when it was cooler, in the low 70s.
72 degrees at 5am today, ugh! I don't know how anyone in the south runs in the summer. This NH girl is not made for the heat/humidity This summer has been particularly brutal.
jreeds, I always think of you when I am out there slogging after work and give up after like 2 miles and then see your pictures of 5 mile runs and I am like, HOW DID SHE DO IT?!?!

Girl, early freaking mornings, lol! It's the only way. I think I would pass out if I ran in the afternoon/evening right now. All the more power to you for getting it done!

I came back from my holiday to Edinburgh and I'm sick. Just walking up the stairs to work got me out of breath. Bah. No running this week. I just want to sleep.
So hot here too. Well today isn’t bad but it was 101 when I got in my car yesterday after work! Also humid
I had a mountain bike crash Sunday and it was so painful. I went over the handlebars hard on my shoulder /arm then the bike fell on me and hurt my knee pretty bad
Injuries man! I’m on the mend though. My knee was such agony Monday I was convinced there was some kind of bone crack but now it’s only mildly sore, woo
Good to be back to H&F after vacations/laziness lol

Running has sucked for me the last week. So slow and miserable. I hate when I have off runs, especially because I had been feeling really good.
I went at 5am yesterday to try to beat the heat... sounded good. It was 81 when I left my house at 4:45 to meet my friend. The humidity was unbearable and I think did the slowest 5 miles I have ever done.
Thank you! I'm really pleased with the fast healing. Now it's five days later and while I'm still bruised and scabby I have only a mild shoulder discomfort and my knee feels almost normal.
When I compare it to running when an injury takes me out for weeks or months every time it seems I got off easy!
I'll definitely probably be apprehensive coming down that section now though but hopefully I can get past the fear.
I gained 5 pounds during my 2 week vacation. How is that possible?
It's just water weight!! you can't actually gain 5lbs in two weeks I don't think ... since each pound of fat requires something like 3,500 excess calories.
It's probably 4lbs water weight from extra carbs and sodium and MAYBE 1lb of actual weight from an extra 500 calories a day

I got up early to run to this morning with the intention of taking my dogs, I skipped their walk last night because I was too tired/ getting ready for camping. NEITHER of them got up and out of bed while I was getting ready. Silly pups.
I hope everyone dealing with the heat & humidity gets some relief! Glad to hear laurack, that you're on the mend.
I have 20 miles tomorrow & it will be 77* with 98% humidity when I start at 5 AM. LOL Add in my pissy hip & the miles should go well. All I can do is laugh.

I read “how bad do you want it” before this marathon cycle to get me motivated. 8 or so weeks in and it turns out I really don’t want it that bad... I’ve been slugging away at miles, but nothing of good quality

I hope you’re right! I definitely splurged more than usual, but not that much!

I have had a migraine for more than a week now. We're adjusting medications but DANG, it's misery. I can function but I don't want to do anything, and R is off work for a 4 day weekend.
