I finished Dirty John. I found the conclusion really weird. I was not expecting “and the zombie prepper killed him” at the end. Actually, I had no idea what to expect about the ending of this podcast. Usually when I listen to a true crime podcast, I sort of know where we’re headed with the story (even if there’s a twist or whatever). I had absolutely no idea where this story was leading. He is obviously human garbage and I’m glad he cannot hurt anyone else. I never changed my opinion of Jacqueline – I find her very irritating.
I listened to this so long ago but I remember feeling almost shocked at the ending, too. I did go online and watch the Dateline episode about it too, kind of to put faces to the names. It was a good watch, though I forgot how friggin dramatic that show is (I hadn't watched it for about 15 years or so).
Dr. Death is my favorite new podcast. OMG, I seriously almost passed out listening to the discription of the first surgery. I feel so bad for his patients and am so angry at those hospitals/his university who just let it go on.
does it stay so gory? That’s a weird word to use for a non-visual medium, but I started it today and had to turn it off.

It doesn’t and I read an interview with the host and she said she thought she had to be very detailed in the first one but let up after that for a variety of reasons.
