On Facebook I'm seeing memes like Ted Cruz puts beans in his chili, drinks Mr. Pibb, and a few others. Light hearted but against the typical Texas things. My staunchly conservation father liked them but I'm not reading too much into that.
I have only seen a handful of Cruz signs and tons of Beto. I think, unfortunately, there are tons of people who will vote for Cruz but aren’t big enough fans of his to put out a sign. He’s unlikeable but keeps getting elected for a reason.
He's been elected one time. 2012 was his first term.

I almost posted this the other day because that was my first thought. This is his first senate re-election bid! Anyway. Maybe he won’t “keep getting elected.”

Crap, you’re right. I thought it was his second term.

The fact that this is his first re-election bid is depressing. He came in like a wrecking ball as a leader of the racist tea partiers, hell bent on blocking and attacking Obama at every turn. He had no other agenda, and has been a driving force in perpetuating hatred and intolerance not just in the GOP, but in the nation. It seems like he's been part of the GOP leadership/opposition for decades, but he's only been serving a national elected office for 6 years.
I keep getting text messages from the Beto campaign and I’m sad I won’t be able to vote against Ted Cruz anymore since we moved. Beto is definitely getting national attention as a threat to Cruz that could take more Republican Party resources to campaign against, which could impact the amount of resources available to other states. His town hall video about football players kneeling has been making the rounds on fb. I think he has a chance. The problem is that so many people in the state (not the cities) will vote republican no matter what but wouldn’t necessarily campaign for them or put out signs. I’m hoping the hatred for Cruz is strong enough, since he continuously ignores the best interests of the people he is supposed to represent.
I’m a military spouse and I have been clinging to my Ohio residency and voter registration for a decade now. Last week I registered in Texas to vote for Beto and our other local candidates! I’m in Abilene, so it’s a very red area that could use more dem voters!
I really hate shady campaign mailers. So this inspired me to make a donation to Beto.
(I guess I should have done that a while ago, since I'm a TX voter, but I've been jaded about campaign donations since my HRC contributions were refunded. This time I filled in my voting address, rather than my physical address, because dammit I'm legally allowed to donate!)
Beto is an exciting candidate. I give the man a lot of credit, he's out there working his butt off. I went to the Houston rally a few weeks ago and people are really amped. I've noticed that the crowds at his rallies and townhalls have only gotten bigger since then. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he can get the job done in November. I helped my little sister change her voter registration information after she moved back to Houston just to make sure she can get out and vote. We need to encourage everyone to get out to the polls if we're going to pull of a win.
My husband and I are building a house in Clear Lake and we were happily surprised to see several Beto signs. I grabbed one of my own at the rally and can't wait to put it in our front yard when we close next week. I work in the Bellaire area and seen 2 houses with Cruz signs, I can't help but laugh everytime I drive by. Whoever said people won't put signs, but will vote for Cruz come election day is so right. My brother in law openly admitted that he doesn't like Cruz, but still plans on voting for him
I’m in Cypress (NW Houston) and saw 2 Beto signs in my neighborhood. Apparently a Cruz sign was taken down by a young woman who has a Beto sign on her lawn. This has resulted in quite a discussion on Nextdoor. Unfortunately I can’t vote yet.

I went to ACU! Lots of college friends back in Abilene still, and it's been heartening to see them line up behind Beto. Even some of my staunchly conservative professors have crossed the aisle.
Cruz responds to O'Rourke support for DPD firing Amber Guyger: "I wish Beto O’Rourke & Democrats weren’t so quick to always blame the police officer. ... She may have been in the wrong ... but I don’t think we should jump to conclusions" amid investigation
I see 3 just taking DD to school every day, which is about 1/2 mile in my NE suburb. If I go another direction, I see 1 Cruz sign and several more Beto signs. This is all without crossing a main street.
I'm really hoping the excitement around Beto will get some apathetic people registered and be an inducement for people to get out and vote. I don't know if it will be enough to overcome the people that don't care for Cruz but will vote for him because of the R, though.
Nurse Cramer had stopped speaking to Nurse Duckett, her best friend, because of her liaison with Yossarian, but still went everywhere with Nurse Duckett since Nurse Duckett was her best friend....Nurse Cramer was prepared to begin talking to Nurse Duckett again if she repented and apologized.
There's a Beto for Senate sign in my neighborhood... in Portland, Oregon.
I should hang one on my balcony in Oslo! The crazy thing is how many people around here would know what it was!
I was helping my American colleague prep his absentee ballot request, because he’s also a Travis County voter. And my Norwegian officemate chimes in with “So are you guys voting for Beto?”
He's an evil, spineless fucker and it will be great for our nation if he loses. The petty side of me will be thrilled not to have to look at his ugly mug.

The energy and enthusiasm for Beto over Cruz is amazing. I was checking out their Facebooks this weekend since both candidates had campaign events and the difference was amazing. Ted Cruz spoke to medium sized room of grumpy looking old people in an small town in South Texas and the majority of the engagement on his page was mostly negative and angry rants against Beto and Democrats in general with very little talk about Cruz himself. Beto did two packed events in North Texas in towns that up until lately would be called solidly red and the the response on his page was mostly positive with a lot of excitement for his message and what he could do for the state. I've lived in Texas my entire voting life and I've never seen this kind of response to a Democratic candidate before. Even if Beto loses his campaign he has encouraged a lot of secret liberals to stop hiding and may start the change needed to make Texas a competitive state.

This is picture from Beto O'Rourke's Town Hall in Denton County. People are literally standing on a fence to see him speak. Keep in mind that this is a county that Ted Cruz won with 64% of the vote in 2012.

Oh this makes me happy to hear! The Church of Christ influence in this town is one of my least favorite things. But there’s a very large presence of young entrepreneurs and activists too. And that gives me hope!
A news round up thing we get at work includes a post this morning saying that Cruz is warning that Beto will ban barbecue across the state unless it's tofu if he wins.
Which, no. And does Cruz think he sets state laws as a us senator? Lol
ETA ok so he apparently said this yesterday and back in May and depending on what site you read he was either "warning" or "joking"
