We are huge book lovers and I’m soooo excited to build a library for this babe.
What are your favorite children’s books? For me, the best I’ve recently read is Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers. If you haven’t read this, it’s the most perfect baby shower book gift. I’ve given it to several friends and the day I found out I was pregnant I ordered one for mine.
What about adult books? Pregnancy-related specifically. I’ve checked out a few pregnancy books from the library I plan on starting this weekend. I’m trying to avoid information overload, which is tough.
Goodnight Moon is an iconic children's book, so I was thrilled when we got a copy of it at a shower. My favorite book when I was growing up was Angelina Ballerina, but it's out of print -- again, I was thrilled when my mom found a good copy of it to give K at a used book store (my own copy, on the other hand, is half held together by packing tape, so I'm also glad K has her own copy now).
We also have a collection of the classic Golden Books that we got from a shower too. I'm looking forward to reading those to kiddo too.

We bought and received a ton of books, but our favorites, as parents, to read with DS are:
The Wonderful Things You Will Be On The Night Your We're Born Wherever You Go, My Love Will Find You
His favorites are:
Still a Gorilla (he is so obsessed we bought him a stuffed gorilla that he snuggles all the time and he's being a Gorilla for Halloween) Never Touch a Dinosaur Where is Baby's X series (he likes the pop up flaps)
One of my daughter’s favorites is called If You Were My Bunny. Such a sweet story, but involves some lullaby singing too.
I LOVE this book so much! So sweet and I loved singing the songs to DD when she was a baby.
I also love: Giraffes Can’t Dance It is Time to Sleep, My Love Elephant and Piggy books (DD loves these) Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too (great book about dad, which is nice since most only include moms. I got it for H for Father’s Day, from DD)
For adults, I really liked the Wonder Weeks book. A friend gave me her copy. I think there is an app too, but I liked reading the book which probably has more detail.
Pregnancy books: Expecting Better. One of my friends also swears by The Wonder Weeks (which I keep meaning to start).
My friend just sent me Expecting Better. It looks interesting. I may start it tomorrow. I
The friend of mine that recommended it works in stats, so it was super in her wheelhouse. I am less numerically inclined, lol, but I'm glad I read it as it gave me lots of good data and food for thought. It's an easy read, too, which was a bonus.
Llama Llama Red Pyjama Rosie Revere, Engineer Duck in a Truck Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Brown Bear, Brown Bear Time for Bed by Mem Fox I Like it When Goodnight Moon
As a person with a disability, I don't cringe at the word "disability" fwiw. Another one in that vein is an Usborne book called Boy, where the main character is deaf.

I love book recommendations posts.
I gravitate towards books that talk about race/social issues and science books as we're atheists. So in addition to classics like Where The Wild Things Are, Good Night Moon, and Chicka Chicka Boom we have:
Counting on Community and A is For Activist- Innosanto Nagara Let's Talk About Race- Julius Lester Older Than the Stars- Karen C. Fox I Wonder- Annaka Harris Any book by Todd Parr National Geographic Kids Here We Are: Notes For Living on Planet Earth- Oliver Jeffers Bedtime Inspirational Stories: 50 Amazing Black People Who Changed the World- L.A. Amber Africa Is Not a Country- Margy Burns Knight The Hello Atlas- Ben Handicott We're All Wonders- R.J Palacio A Galaxy of Her Own- Libby Jackson
I also have a lot of books for black history month.
For adults I like: 5 Love Languages of Children- Gary Chapman The Whole Brained Child- Daniel Siegel UnSelfie- Michelle Borba Raising Free Thinkers and Parenting Beyond Belief- Dale McGowan
And humorous parenting books Toddlers Are Assholes- Bunmi Laditan I Just Want To Pee Alone- (Written by mom bloggers) Parenting Illustrated With Crappy Pictures- Amber Dusick The Honest Toddler- Bunmi Laditan

These progressive/diverse recommendations are exactly what I'm looking for. Our main goal is to raise a child who respects and enjoys all cultures and all types of people. A feminist regardless of sex. Thank you all so much. This is a fantastic resource!!

Turbo’s list is great. We also have Please, Baby, Please and Last Stop on Market Street. Round is a mooncake is good. We also have a lot of the classics in Spanish.
We like the Gerald and Piggie books too (fun to read).
Not going to lie, I also like the Usborne that's not my series for when she was little. Like 9 months when she started holding them herself and now she's 18 months and still goes straight for them. Our other regular books have pages ripped, but those little buggers are tough. And they're repetitive between the books in the series, so she's learning some vocabulary.
