There have been about 900 people who have said in the last week that Kavanaugh was a mean drunk, so there's no way the FBi doesn't have *something* to that effect.
When the Dems control the House, the judiciary committee will be able to get this FBI report and open a real investigation if they wanted. It's not like Kavanaugh is going to be impeached, but if they wanted to just take a page from the GOP's handbook and investigate things and propose bills that keep getting rejected, they will certainly have tons of fodder to do so.
biscoffcookies he really is in a terrible spot. The WV polling I have seen and it is brutal. He is not the Dem I want but he’s the Dem we have and they’re not going to get someone better. Schumer’s people still feel good about it so who knows what will happen.
I can’t even find it in myself to be upset with Manchin if he votes yes unless he’s the deciding vote. People here are such shit human beings and I really fear for his re-election chances. I have never hated living in this state more than the last two years.

Agree. I hate that a vote from Manchin would let the GOP tout how the vote was "bipartisan" and thus use him as evidence that everything was baseless, partisan-motivated, etc., but unless he is the deciding vote I care more about keeping that seat.
The Senate expects to get the FBI report on Kavanaugh late tonight and, per person briefed, each party will *alternate* between having access to it tomorrow a.m. (versus only 1 hour total):
GOP can access 8-9am Dems from 9-10am GOP from 10-11am
I say: Judge had no recollection of any parties Ramirez credible, eyewitnesses not interviewed Ford allegations could not be substantiated by other attendees

They apparently interviewed the ex-boyfriends of both Ford and Ramirez* so I'm sure there will be stuff in there about them being crazy/unreliable.
*I can't remember where I read that and I'm sort of hoping it was "fake news" because omfg if not. 🤯

WaPo reporting that FBI only talked to 6 witnesses, 5 of whom were in regards to Ford’s allegation. So, since we know they spoke to Ramirez, that means the ex-boyfriend rumor is fake.
Polling data is starting to come in. The confirmation fight is motivating the GOP base. They want to stretch it out so they vote in midterms.
Yeah I am reading some of these now. Voter enthusiasm is now tied; up 12 points for GOP. Generic lead on ballot down to 7 from double digits. So we plausibly have a situation where he gets confirmed and the fight actually results in Dems not retaking the House.

I didn't think they would but I guess this means the GOP really doesn't care about the dozens of people coming forward from Kavanaugh's past to say he definitely lied under oath about his drinking. It's not the drinking per se at issue, it's the lying about it and what that says about his general character. The media isn't going to stop reporting on what a liar he is though. What a mess.
