Not that I would turn down any amount of money but with this much money it wouldn’t even be like I couldn’t afford to buy a new house for me and my parents (or something like that). New houses for all!
It would be nice but honestly, I would be happy with $125,000 and call it good!
Right? About now I'd be happy with 10k. We could put a new roof on the house or pay off the car NOW... but we didn't win jack last night so it's all conjecture .

Yes. We’d leave town and start over. We’d have different lives. Our kids wouldn’t ever have to wait to see a doctor and I’d havea car that didn’t have rust on it. My sister wouldn’t lose her house. All my nieces and nephews could go to college. Fuck yes, I want that burden.

Yes. I’ve already thought about how we divvy the money up among family. We will give a large sum to each of our parents and have them split it how they wish with extended family. I’m not dealing with that.
I’m a SAHM but DH would not keep working. We’ve always wanted to own our own design/build business of new homes (he’s a GC) so we would likely do that to keep busy. And I have philanthropic ideas, too.
Yes, but I live in a state that would allow me to claim the money anonymously so theoretically my friends and family wouldn't know.
The lump sum of this jackpot would be over $900 million. They’d know :-)
I personally would not want to win this. It’s too much. Give me something like $10 million so I can never work again, be charitable, help family and travel anywhere and everywhere.

Yes! I could deal with the billion lol, but even just 100-200k would be nice.
I have a friend that won a million once - her grandfather gave everyone lottery tickets as part of their Xmas present, mostly as a joke, and she won one million dollars. She paid off her six figure SLs from grad school, paid off her mortgage, and bought a BMW lol. She had a nice paying job so without the SLs and mortgage, her income gave her a nice lifestyle.
I’ve often thought that’s all I want. Enough to pay off SLs and mortgage. I mean more would be nice lol. But I’ll take what I can get. Which right now is nothing haha.

Hell yes!!!! The only thing I hate is that, here in Michigan and other states I am sure, over a certain amount of winnings you have to go public and that I don’t like about it. I’ll still take it but it would be great if it could be done privately.
Yeah, I would want to win it. We would keep some, give some to our families and friends so we can all be a little well off together, then use the majority of it on important causes. There might be a problem or two in the country right now that could use some funding.
Oh, and while I'd do good things with the money, I would also absolutely buy some totally insane stuff. Like an apartment in Florence and another in NYC and probably a totally ridiculous car that I don't even know exists. And a shitton of shoes. And a diamond infinity band.
Let's be real.
See and I’m over here like I’d buy that Honda Odyssey 😂 (I do have bigger dreams for other areas of my life).
It’s really way more money than I would know what to do with. I wouldn’t say no obviously but I would definitely like the idea of claiming anonymously. I would like to think that we could slow it down so we could take time making good decision and start out making small changes. We would likely keep our house and same schools. But might buy a few other houses. I think I would quit my job eventually but not right away. I do like it so it’s not like a f you all i’m Leaving situation but more of a spend time managing everything and more time with kids.
The irony is that with that much money I’m certain I would work more. A lot more. It would be a good life, but I would be busy managing my empire (and saving the world).
I went to a conference this week of high powered women and one of the speakers said she had weekly, in home therapeutic massages. I’m totally getting that.
Exactly. Charitable foundations and PACs don't exactly run themselves. I can't think of a better job, honestly.
Realistically I can’t quit my job (I signed a contract for 4 more years), but then I could retire and do what I want. H and I could work if we not, or not work if we don’t. We could go back and get more degrees if we want without worrying about debt. We could travel and visit friends across the world that we can now only see on Facebook. We could make amazing donations to the charitable organizations that we like. But then again, we could do all of those things for substantially less than 900 million dollars.
Hell yes. Dh and I have already said that we would pay off debts, set aside a ton for college for our kids, set aside a ton to take care of our parents, buy a bigger house, buy a mountain and/or beach house for vacation (rent out when we're not there), invest enough to live very comfortably, and donate the rest. And I would likely quit working and become a lady who lunches.

If you don’t feel like sharing I totally get it out but even with a 3 year contract why can’t you quit? Do you just feel morally obligated to stick it out (which I totally understand - when I taught I’m not sure I could have quit mid year knowing what a disaster that ends up being for the students and other teachers)?

Yes, I want to win. And if I did win, I wouldn't keep it a secret for long. I would go to work, and I would live out every retail workers' dream of telling off that one asshat customer, and dance my way out the door, never to be seen again.

Military. Can't just quit.
There is a way to separate for instances like this. :-) You’re good. Except I plan on winning so I’ll let you know how long the separation paperwork takes. 😂😂😂

Lol H used to dream about buying out his contract if we hit the big one.

Yep. Though I bet if I won 900 million dollars they might consider me a security risk or something (ie: someone could try to blackmail me into sharing national security secrets or something?)
