In real life, not here on the board, lol. I know we have a lot of lawyer ladies on the board, so I'm hoping for advice on what to look for, red flags, etc. I've googled and found a lot of articles with varying advice, so I'm not sure what's important and what's not.
This is especially important because I'm looking for a not sketchy personal injury attorney in the Boston area and I'm West coast, so I may not be able to meet with them in person.
Anything specific other than checking with the bar to verify license and any complaints that I should be doing? Or if you have personal experience recommendations and you'd like to pm me, that would be great too.
I would look for someone who focuses their practice on your type of case - we have plenty of general PI firms who try to do everything, and they just aren’t as good as the ones who focus. For instance, im a med mal attorney and the plaintiff firms that focus on med mal do a much better job working up their cases than those who try to do a little of everything.
First, you can contact your county bar association.
What do I ask them? And do you mean the bar in Boston? Because I'm not sure what my not-even-the-same-state bar association can do to help.
I apologise for sounding dumb, but I've googled this and read all the recommended lists of questions for attorneys, and it's a ton. I'm overwhelmed, and trying to comprehend those lists on pain meds is exhausting, so I'm hoping for just some easy to comprehend and easy to follow recommendations here.

No worries!
See if they have a lawyer referral service.
Also, if you have any local moms groups, you can ask for recommendations there that people have used.
I know someone who works for a personal injury firm in the Boston area. Initially I was going to have her handle my personal injury stuff but it was out of state/complicated so I found someone local through a friend’s recommendation. I can PM you her name/firm if you want it.

Thank you, it looks like the Boston bar does have a referral service!
I appreciate your help. I'm not normally so helpless/easily confused, lol.
