I have limited equipment at home and am using dumbbells for shoulder presses, lateral raises, etc. In MFP it asks for the weight and I'm sure this is a dumb question, but do I put in the weight of one dumbbell (6 lbs) or the total weight of both dumbbells (12 lbs)?
I just want to make sure I'm recording my workout accurately.
You may already know this but just in case - the Strength Training tool on MFP is really just for your own tracking purposes. It's not going to tell you that you burned more calories for lifting 12 lbs as opposed to 6 lbs or anything. It's great to track your strength workouts but for calorie burning purposes, you could just search for general "strength training" (or maybe "circuit training" if you are doing quicker, more high-intensity stuff) under the cardio exercises.
here's a mfp question. When I input my treadmill running, do I go by the calories mfp gives me or what the treadmill says I burned? Mfp is always less.
