OMG. I live in MN, so we're used to the snow and basically always prepared even when it's feet of snow instead of inches. I remember being annoyed as a kid that we got a grand total of TWO snow days from K-12th and my friend who moved to Philadelphia got a snow day every single time they got an inch of snow. I guess I see why! I'm sorry!
We have had two snow days in the 5 years I have worked in NYC, both times completely unnecessary.
I am so tired and grumpy...this is rough day for me!
Luckily the subways weren't affected much, at least not the lines I took. But I was really surprised at the terrible conditions of the streets in the city (not plowed during rush hour). I was really glad I don't depend on buses because I wouldn't have wanted to be in a vehicle with the way the streets were.

We got 13" of snow on Monday and now I'm really glad Colorado is on top of their roads. Holy crap, sorry to everyone who got stranded or drove for hours!

I am in Southern CT and it was awful. We were able to leave work at 3:30 instead of 4, which was the only reason I got home. Minutes after I pulled in my driveway, the roads were impassable.
My FIL spent 6 hours trying to make a 40 minute ride home. He left work at 6 Anthony get home until after midnight. The highways were all shut down because the snow came too quickly and so many cars were stuck that plows couldn’t get through to begin to clear the snow.
We were supposed to get 1 to 3 inches. We got 7. The 45 minute drive took 2 hours. Passed several stuck big rigs, abandoned cars, and several accidents.
My part of PA just...gave up. They didn't prep, they didn't plow, they didn't salt or cinder. It was a giant mess.
I think this was kind of us, too. They were predicting a dusting, and it hadn't even started when I got into bed. Then about 930 I heard a plow go by.
I. Heard. A. Fucking. Plow. It turned to rain overnight though and will be gone tomorrow but I still had to drive through a snowbank to get out of my driveway this morning.
