I need new bath towels, hand towels, and facecloths. My ILS and mom want Christmas gift ideas and I'd love tell them towels. However, I have had really bad luck with new towels falling apart. We don't have Costco here. I tried searching for towel threads, but no luck. Do you have a towel recommendation?
I have been satisfied with the Target Threshold brand for our everyday towels - we use the plain solid colors, haven't tried the patterned ones. For something a little nicer, I also like towels from The Company Store.
Our Target towels have also held up very well. I think our oldest set is almost a decade old, and they're not even close to fraying in spite of regular use and washing.

Ditto. I've been using the same Target towels for over 10 years.

Another vote for Target towels. I am only considering replacing them after 11 years because the color is fading in weird splotches now (not bleach).
I love the towels from Restoration Hardware. They have held up well.
H got me these for an anniversary present once. He said he wanted to create a “spa bathroom” for me. I don’t know what he was thinking with that one but they ARE my favorite towels we have.

I usually go with JC Penney when they have their white sale. They’ve held up well. Not sure what brand they are since I cut all the tags off but they’ve been good. H got me a couple from ll bean that held up great for years.

We have had great luck with these. We get the bath sheets with free monogram. I just ordered some from Pottery Barn because we had a big credit there that was about to expire, but these, when on sale, as they are now, are a great value. Horchow is owned by the same company as Nieman Marcus and Bergdorf.

I can't make brand recs (ours are from Kohls, I don't know the brand) but ask for bath sheets instead of bath towels. They are wider and longer and 100% better IMO.
