7.2 and centered not too terribly far from Anchorage. Got a text from one of my sons. Stuff has fallen everywhere, the power went off, and there's still aftershocks. So scary to be so far away from the kids. Ugh.

Big mess. I'm watching CNN and they are showing windows broken in office buildings in Anchorage, phone lines not working, local tv stations off the air. Oy.

I just left there. Oy. No word from my granddaughter who is in school which is even closer to the epicenter. My son is flipped out, as he's in Anchorage, and wants to get to Wasilla. Thankfully his girlfriend has family out there who can get to her quicker.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you aren't there, that must be extra tough. I hope all your loved ones are safe.
ETA: I actually have a cousin who lives in Alaska, and I just realized she's in Anchorage too. She's actually an EMT so even if she's safe, I bet she's going to have a rough day
