Luckily with having a 3 letter first name there are no nicknames for me.
Strangers have called me kiddo before and it makes me rage-y. They are also the same people that assume because I look young that I must still be a college student but that's for another thread.
ETA: My maiden name is a body part and people always found that funny for some reason and would try to give me nicknames due to that but they never stuck around ^o)

In a professional setting, you can call me anything; just don't call me 'honey', 'sweetie', or similar if you're a male; especially if we're not tight like that. You will get your ass kicked.
A co-worker calls me "kiddo". Drives me insane. I'm 30 years old with a child of my own. I'm not a "kiddo". It probably wouldn't bother me as much if she didn't say it condescendingly.
My dad had a short stint where he called me "sis". WTF. My name does not shorten to "sis" and I'm your daughter, not your sister. Don't confuse the matter. He picked it up from a friend of his... friend's daughter's name is Alexis so her nickname was "sis". Ok, fine. That goes. It does not work with my name. It's just weird.
There's a guy at work that calls me Stephanie. That's not my name. I've corrected him, but he keeps doing it. He's kind of a dick, so I just ignore him.
Ooh, one more. The trash guy at work calls me DS' name. Seriously. He comes into my cube all "Hi Aaron". Um... that's my kid's name. Weird. Just weird.

I hate being called Jess and Jessie. H's grandparents always call me Jessie and I can't get them to stop! I also hate it when people call me "honey" "sweetie" or any other pet names unless they are my husband or my family. I really hate it when people call me Ma'am, especially when the person is older than me!
My name has two syllables so friends and family sometimes shorten it to one syllable but I find it so weird when people I barely know do the same. If you met someone named Cameron you wouldn't say "what's up, Cam?" right off the bat, would you? Some people would I guess. Drives me nuts.
I get kiddo sometimes. It makes my skin crawl. I think of it as what a guy calls a girl when he wants to be friends but feels the need to make it painfully clear there is no hope for anything more. (I've never told anyone I think that and realize now how wacky it sounds. I blame a college incident. Obviously, it scarred me.)
One friend calls me Queen. (There's a long story behind that, but no, it has nothing to do with my attitude. I just can't share, because I like my privacy.) Anyway, it makes me cringe. When she emails me and uses that in the greeting, I'm always sure to sign my response with my real name or a nickname I like much better.
Also, only certain people can use a particular shortened version of my name that's unisex and makes my skin crawl when coming from the wrong people.

I have several. My first name is Michelle and my parents just love calling me Chelley. My maiden initials were MMC so all through school I was called Mickey Mouse Club. Finally my maiden last name sounds very similar to a car compnay so I got called that a lot.

Sue... I hate it. One XBF called me that and he still does if he sees me that that it has happened in years. I have a co-worker named Sue that drives me batty also so that does not help.

Mine is kind of the opposite issue. I love my full name, but it's formal sounding and 4 syllables, so kind of a pain to say and not always pronounced correctly (though it's not a "uneek" spelling).
So I go by a shortened version all the time, personally and professionally. Sometimes it's very hard for people to get the hint that I go by the shortened name - even though I sign emails that way, answer the phone that way, introduce myself that way, etc. I sometimes resort to "you can just call me ___" because it feels awkward to be called by it.
Then when people don't catch on, I get a bad opinion of them and assume they don't pay attention.
My co-worker and my director call me kiddo. Um, I'm 32. Just because you are old enough to be my father does not make me a "kiddo".
I don't like "hon" or "honey" or any other similar cute nickname unless you are my husband.
All nicknames I've been given related to my name have been acceptable. In college I was called by my initials a lot, but it was also the name of a strip club in town. That was occasionally slightly awkward. "I saw the most amazing boobs at EJ's"...
