The FBI released for the first time Friday night a two-page summary former FBI Director James Comey used to brief President-elect Donald Trump nearly two years ago on a so-called dossier about Trump’s ties to Russia.
The version made public Friday could reignite previous criticism from Republicans and Trump allies that the FBI was too vague in its description of the fact that the dossier was funded by the campaign of Trump’s nemesis in the 2016 presidential election, Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, as well as the Democratic National Committee.
Back to the grand jury story - looks like one of the SC attorneys that was supposedly present is a specialist in Middle Eastern affairs. Odds that the next round of indictments involve Saudis? High.
Joy Reid is covering for Maddow and she said one of the two Mueller team people there today was the person who is also handling the Flynn piece.
Reid also said that it appears to relate to a dispute over a grand jury witness, and that whatever it is, it’s important enough that the court has been willing to drop stuff to hear things relating to it ASAP and undergo unprecedented security measures.
I’m thinking this has something to do with Mike Pence.
I can get on board with this. My first thought was a trump family member, but Joy said they swept for electronic devises (bugs or bombs). Javanka is certainly high profile, but not worthy of locking down the floor and sweeping the room. Actually, I’m hung up on the sweep and the fact that no one saw shit. That points to a high-level dignitary with a professional security team. Pence makes the most sense. He was, as they say, 🎵in the room where it happened🎵
Was it already known that Zinke is leaving his post at the end of the year? Trump just tweeted about it. There are so many changes in this administration that I can’t keep track anymore.

ETA: I guess not:
How does one look at all these people leaving and the firings and think this is “what a winning administration” looks like?

I am definitely experiencing the Mandela Effect with this administration. I know Zinke and the horse he rode in on had scandals, but I guess none broke through enough for a resignation. I thought his departure had previously been announced, too. just had to Google Gary Cohn (out), Ben Carson (in), and Scott Pruitt (out) to review their status.
Zinke was going to be the focus of numerous House investigations. He’s a slimy little asshole and we should all be glad he’s gone. Not that any replacement will be any better.
White House pushed Zinke to quit for weeks and told him he would be fired if he did not. He was viewed as big issue w/Democrats taking House. But he wanted to have his Christmas party Thursday night, where he invited activists, lobbyists, donors and more.

mbcdefg OMG- I was totally reading about that!!! He needed to have his flipping Christmas party with his flipping Santa-hatted stuffed polar bear!! What a small evil man😐
Additionally, in not great news: Kathleen Sgamma*, president of the Western Energy Alliance, said in an email that liberal activists might end up regretting their push to oust Zinke. “The environmental groups have claimed another scalp but as with Pruitt, they’re going to be disappointed,” said Sgamma, whose group represents several oil and gas firms. “The deputy secretary will move forward with the energy dominance agenda, and there’s no sign from the president that he’ll appoint another secretary who’s not on board with the successful job creation that results from that agenda.” *Though, this is, of course the enemy speaking www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/interior-secretary-zinke-resigns-amid-investigations/2018/12/15/481f9104-0077-11e9-ad40-cdfd0e0dd65a_story.html
