I needed this, thanks! And I don’t care about broken record-ing; I’m saying it again: can you imagine automatically accepting this as truth when it comes to Any Other President? 45 though? YUP, for sure he did!

Farking hell. Sen. John Kyl (tapped to fill the remainder of Sen McCain's term) is resigning at the end of this month. Which means Derpy Ducey gets to appoint another replacement.
Text: Just in: GOP Sen. Jon Kyl –– appointed to fill the seat held by the late Sen. John McCain –– has written to Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey to announce his resignation effective Dec. 31, 2018.

I saw this coming. 10 internet dollars says he appoints Martha McSally.

This was always expected. McSally ran against Sinema on the chance she would win, and then Ducey would have to appoint another republican to the vacated seat. The question is, who will Ducey appoint now? (Kyl always said he would only take it until January). Popular wisdom says McSally, but there's a whole thing about a rumor about how Ducey wants to run for this seat when the special election is in 2020, for the last 2 years of the term. And running against McSally if she's been in it will be difficult. Ducey might appoint his bud Kirk Adams if they've made a deal for Adams to step down and clear the field for Ducey in 2020.
ETA: edited because I keep getting mixed up about when the next election for the seat is.
Interesting speculation thread. The TLDR is that there's some evidence that Trump Campaign was illegally coordinating with PACs, maybe using foreign money to pay Manafort
“I don't think there is anybody that believes that[the president didn't know about the payments],” Cohen told Stephanopoulos. “First of all, nothing at the Trump organization was ever done unless it was run through Mr. Trump. He directed me to make the payments, he directed me to become involved in these matters.
“He knows the truth. I know the truth. Others know the truth,” Cohen continued. “And here is the truth: People of the United States of America, people of the world, don't believe what he is saying. The man doesn't tell the truth. And it is sad that I should take responsibility for his dirty deeds.”
I mean, WE all know this, but how was it not obvious to others that he is a lying, liar, who lies. That is still f-ing confounding to me.

Exclusive: Paul Manafort advised White House on how to attack and discredit investigation of President Trump
Paul Manafort, who served as the manager for President Trump’s presidential campaign, provided advice to the president and senior White House officials during the earliest days of the Trump administration on how to undermine and discredit the FBI’s investigation into whether the president, his campaign aides, and family members conspired with the Russian Federation and its intelligence services to covertly defeat Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to government records and interviews with individuals familiar with the matter. Manafort himself was under criminal investigation by the FBI during this same time, a fact then known to the White House.
Last Friday, special counsel Robert Mueller alleged in court filings that Manafort told “multiple discernible lies” to FBI agents and prosecutors, in violation of the cooperation agreement between Manafort and the special counsel’s office. Among those, Mueller charged, were lies by Manafort to investigators that he had not been in contact with anyone in the White House.

Which PAC? To connect more dots, the wunderboy COS candidate who fled DC last week with his family started one of the biggest pro-Trump PACs.
I constantly think about that story from early 2016 in which the Trump campaign sent out “oopsie” fundraising emails to foreign embassies. I know dick about the intricacies of campaign finance law but I know that was asking for something illegal. Allied countries alerted the campaign to the “mistake” but it never sat right with me. I didn’t give them the benefit of the doubt.

Whoa to both!!! I don't think it's any one PAC. This speculation is that there were many PACs, of which the NRA run PAC was just one.
